+ Tue morning runs: South Table Mtn (T=3, P=2, N=4)**
+ Thursday evening run: Mt. Falcon (T=3, P=5, N=2)**
+ Saturday Evergreen Runners Circle run: Chief Hosa (T=1, P=2, N=2)**
+ Races, clinics and other upcoming events
+ Rimrock entries for sale

This is the final run of the "season" (we will continue running
through the winter). We change our clocks to standard time this
weekend, and will lose all evening daylight until next spring. We will
still have some daylight at the start, great weather, and the full
moon to guide is down. Come out and celebrate another great season of
DTR runs.

Leigh Singleton will be leading runs every Tue morning at South Table
Mtn (T=3, P=2, N=4). The runs will start at 5:15am, and run into the
sunrise. Look for Leigh in a yellow Xterra, often with a standard
poodle. These runs will continue every week as long as people show up.

Directions: Meet at the NREL visitors' lot. Take I-70 to Denver West
Blvd. Go north to the first street. Turn left. Go 2 blocks to the NREL
lot. From 6th ave, exit at Indiana. Go north to Colfax. Turn right and
continue past the shopping center on the left. Turn left at Denver
West Marriott Blvd. Go over I-70 and follow the directions above.
There are no bathrooms or changing facilities at this site.

This Thursday's run is at Mt. Falcon (T=3, P=5, N=2)**. This will be a
fun run, not a time trial. The main group will start at 6:00pm. A
smaller group usually starts around 5:30pm; look for Scott, Ray,
Connie or Kim.

Sunset - 6:03pm; end civil twilight - 6:31pm. Moonrise is at 6:21pm.
It's a full moon.

Directions: Take C-470 to Morrison Rd., hwy 74. Go west, through the
town of Morrison. Turn left onto hwy 8. About 1 mile up the hill, look
for signs to the park. Turn right onto Forrest. Take the next right to
the park. If the lot is full, you may have to park on the road. From
hwy 285, and the south, take the hwy 8 exit, the first exit west of
C-470. About 1 mile north of The Fort restaurant, look for Forest
drive and signs to the park. For an alternate route to avoid C-470
traffic from the north, stay on I-70 west to the Red Rocks exit, #259.
Go left and take hwy 93 ~3mi into Morrison. Turn right in Morrison,
then left at hwy 8. There's a concert at Red Rocks that night. This
might affect traffic on the alternate route. To avoid traffic on C-470
from DTC, take Belleview west to Santa Fe. Go right to hwy 285. Turn
left and take 285 to C-470.

Route: There are two ways up (and down), then several options at the
top. The short way up is the time trial course. Stay on the Castle
trail, stay left at the first junction, 100 yards from the start. It's
2.5mi (and 1,500') to the gazebo. The long way up goes right on the
Turkey Trot trail, just after the start. It's 0.4mi longer. Regroup at
the gazebo.*

From the gazebo, a fun, short route is to go right at the gazebo, onto
Walker's Dream trail. It's 0.3mi out to a scenic overlook. Stop and
enjoy the views, then return the same way.

A longer option is to continue up the Castle trail for another 1/2 mi.
Go left onto the Meadow trail. Then, take a series of rights back to
the Castle trail. Then, take the Castle trail back down. A slightly
longer variation of this is to start on the Meadow trail. Then, just
after the first right, veer left onto the Tower trail until it merges
back onto the Meadow trail.

Another longer option is to start down the Meadow trail. Then, take
the next left and do the Devil's Elbow loop. This leads to a scenic
overlook.

* Regrouping points. Please regroup at the gazebo to help guide new
runners, and to run with others of similar paces.

This Saturday's Evergreen Runners Circle (ERC) run is at Chief Hosa
(T=1, P=2, N=2)**. This is a fairly easy run, mostly on a dirt road.

Take I-70 to the Chief Hosa exit, #253. Go south, left (if coming from
Denver) across the highway. Go left on the dirt frontage road a short
distance and park near the "Y", just below the lodge.

The ERC runs are usually 60-90 minutes long. Occasionally, some people
will start early, or run longer, to get in more mileage. They usually
go out for coffee/breakfast afterwards. Several of us do the ERC runs,
but I don't organize them. Please forward your questions to Dave via
the ERC link below. For more info about the ERC schedules, go to:
http://www.geocities.com/Colosseum/Lodge/7018/index.html

Schedule:
11/6 - Beaver Brook trail, Genesee
11/13 - Elk Meadow, lower lot
