+ Thursday evening run: North Table Mtn (T=2, P=3; N=2)**
+ Saturday's Evergreen Runners Circle run: Evergreen Lake House (T=3,
P=3, N=4)**
+ Races, clinics and other upcoming events
+ Carpool to Wed eve Breckenridge trail races
+ Telluride Mountain Film Festival
This Thursday's run is at North Table Mtn (T=2, P=3; N=2)**. The main
group will start at 6:15pm sharp. A smaller group usually starts around
5:30pm; look for Scott, Ray, Connie or Kim.
Directions: From the intersection of hwys 6, 58 & 93 in Golden, go
north on hwy 93 towards Boulder. Go ~1.4mi and turn right at the first
street after Golden Gate Canyon, Pine Ridge. Go 2 short blocks to the
end, then make a left on Wyoming. After Wyoming curves right, the
parking lot for the trailhead will be on your left.
Route (see attached map): This is a new route, different than what
we've run here in the past.
Start up the trail towards the water tank. Go right at the tank, take a
left up the single track, left again through the fence, then, right up
the 4WD road to the top. At the top, continue east, straight on the old
4WD road. The road curves left, right, the left again. Make sure you
stay on the south and east side of the fence. Continue north until
you're about even with the radio towers on your left. Follow the road
as it curves left and goes down the hill. Continue around the north
side of the mountain until the road turns into a trail. Follow the
trail south along the east side of the mountain. The trail then climbs
steeply up a ravine, back to the plateau. At the top, continue heading
west towards the radio towers. When you hit the 4wd road, go left and
retrace your route to the start.
Unless you are starting early, only the faster intermediate runners and
better will be able to do the entire loop. It'll take the fastest
runners 1:00 to complete the loop. For everyone else, please do this as
an out-and-back, turning around at ~35 minutes. The trail on the map
was drawn by hand. The elevation profile is fairly accurate, but the
distance is probably closer 7.5-8.0mi.
Upcoming run schedule (subject to change):
7/8-Apex
7/15-Green Mtn, time trial, 3.2mi on rolling course
7/22-Deer Creek, potluck picnic
7/29-Hogback/Matthews Winters
8/5-Ken Caryl
8/12-Mt. Falcon time trial
8/19- Lookout/Chimney Gulch
8/26-Lair o' the Bear, potluck picnic

This Saturday's Evergreen Runners Circle (ERC) run is at Evergreen Lake
House (T=3, P=3, N=4)**.
Take the Evergreen Parkway, hwy 74, exit 252 from I-70. Continue
through Bergen Park, past Elk Meadow, about 6 miles, down the hill to
the lake. At the bottom of the hill, just before the road turns left at
the lake, turn right onto Upper Bear Creek Rd. Go about 1/4 mile and
turn left into the Lake House parking lot.
The ERC runs are usually 60-90 minutes long. Occasionally, some people
will start early, or run longer, to get in more mileage. They usually
go out for coffee/breakfast afterwards. Several of us do the ERC runs,
but I don't organize them. Please forward your questions to Dave via
the ERC link below. For more info about the ERC schedules, go to:

Schedule:
7/10: Lower Parking Lot at Elk Meadow.
7/17: Evergreen Peak Race

The Summit Trail Series races are held on several Wed evenings, 5:45pm,
in Breckenridge. If interested in carpooling to these races, please
reply to this message. Please put "Summit Carpool" in the subject line.
Please delete the original message and only include your name and
contact info. A group generally meets in the Pteradactyl lot in
Morrison. Take I-70 to the Morrison exit, #259. From Denver, go
straight through the light, ~200 yards up the frontage road. The lot is
on the left, just down and across from the Conoco station. They leave
at 3:30pm sharp.

From Todd Holmes:
"MOUNTAINFILM in Telluride on Tour is coming to the American
Mountaineering Center in downtown Golden, Thursday, July 8 and Friday,
July 9; with a different selection of films showing each night. (Check
out http://www.mountainfilm.org/tour.html for general info on
MOUNTAINFILM in Telluride.) Each show is a great night of awe-inspiring
adventure, environmental, and cultural short films relating to mountain
life.
This event is a fundraiser for the Alpine Rescue Team based out of
Evergreen, Colorado. Shows start at 7pm and tickets are $16 each if
purchased on-line at www.alpinerescueteam.org or, pending availability,
will be $15 at the door the night of the show. It's always an
incredible show and well worth the price of admission."
