+ Possible rain out at Falcon tonight
+ Evans run on Sat
+ Discount chiropractic certificates for charity
The forecast calls for rain again this afternoon. I strongly
discourage running (hiking and riding too) on muddy trails. The
footprints and tire tracks leave ruts which speeds erosion and makes
the trails difficult to use. It's important for us to be good
stewards of the trails.
We will run the time trial today as long as the rain is just a light
drizzle and the trail conditions are good. Falcon drains pretty well.
However, if the trail is too soft, we will move the run to Bear Creek
Lake Park (BCLP). The start at BCLP will be 15 min later, at 6:30pm.
That will give you time to check in at Falcon by 6:15, then drive the
short distance to BCLP.
From Falcon, return to hwy 8. Turn left, north, and go down the hill
to Morrison. Turn right at the light, a "T" intersection, hwy 74.
Proceed through the town to Rooney Rd, just before C-470, by the
Conoco station. Turn left, then an immediate right into the dirt lot.
For a direct route, take C-470 to Morrison Rd. Go west off the hwy.
Take the first right onto Rooney Rd, then a right into the lot.
I'll explain the BCLP routes at that time. BCLP has both road and
trail options.

Danelle Ballengee is hosting an unofficial Mt Evans run this
Saturday. She wasn't able to put on the annual race this year, so
she's doing this instead. It's not a race. There are no permits, fees
or sign-ups. It's just a fun run.
Please show up at the Echo Lake lodge by 9am. There are two good
routes. 1) Take I-70 to Evergreen Parkway, hwy 74, exit 252. Go about
2.5 mi to Squaw Pass Rd, hwy 103. Turn right and go 18 mi to the
lodge. 2) Take I-70 to Idaho Springs, exit 240. Go south on hwy 103,
14mi, to the lodge.
Danelle will explain different route options then. One possibility is
to run up to Summit Lake via the road, 9mi, then back down on the
Chicago Lakes trail.
We'd also welcome anyone interested in crewing. That might include
meeting us for water part way up, and shuttling runners down who only
want to run one way.
Otherwise, this is a self supported run; i.e., you need to carry your
own food, water and clothing.
