The Wednesday morning run will be at the stairs at Red Rocks. Meet at
the TnT lot in Morrison at 5:45am and run up to the ampitheatre, or
meet at the ampitheatre at 6:00am.
TnT: Take C470 to the Morrison, hwy 74 exit. Go west into Morrison.
TnT is the last eatery on the left, shortly before the light at hwy 8.
Ampitheatre: From C470, take the Morrison exit. Head west, through
the town of Morrison. Go past the traffic light at hwy 8. Take the
next right and follow the signs to the Trading Post.
From I-70, take the Red Rocks exit, #259. Go south, about 1 mile down
the hill. Turn right into Red Rocks and follow the signs to the
ampitheatre.

This Thursday will be a run and potluck picnic at Lair 'O The Bear
Park (T=2-3, P=3). The main group will start at 6:15pm. An informal
early group usually starts at around 5:30pm.
Following the run, join us for a potluck picnic at the park. The
picnic will start around 7:30-7:45. Bring something to eat or drink
for yourself and, if possible, to share with others. Also, bring a
fork, spoon, plate, cup, etc., to eat/drink with. If you can't or
forget to bring anything, don't worry. Please join us anyway. There
is usually more than enough for everyone. It's a great chance to get
to know the other runners better.
Directions: Take C-470 to the Morrison exit, hwy 74. Go west, through
Morrison, and continue about 4.5mi to the park entrance on the left.
Meet at the far, west end of the lot.
Route: Head west on the Creekside trail that follows the creek, up
the canyon, for about 1 mile. Look for a singe-track trail coming in
from behind you on the left. If you get to the chain across the
trail, or hwy 74, you've gone too far. It's about 100' before the
chain. Follow the Bear Creek Trail out and back as far as you want to
go. The trails takes you to Corwina, O'Fallon and Pence parks. A
couple of miles up, it crosses a few other trails. Feel free to
explore. These are some of the nicest trails in the foothills.
However, remember to stay on the Bear Creek Trail to get back to the
picnic.
For more details on the park go to:
http://www.co.jefferson.co.us/ext/dpt/comm_res/openspac/lair.htm
Note: The runs are not intended to be races. Run as hard or easy as
you want. Everyone is welcome regardless of ability.
Schedule (subject to change):
8/21: Mt. Falcon time trial
8/28: Chimney Gulch/Lookout Mtn
9/4: Bear Creek Lake Park
9/11: tbd
9/18: North Table Mtn.

The Evergreen Runners Circle (ERC) will do the Alderfer/3 Sisters
race this Saturday. It's billed as a 4mile race. For more info on the
race, call Sharon Martin at Evergreen Parks and Rec., (303) 674-6441
x26.
Take the Evergreen Parkway exit, hwy 74, #252, from I-70, to the main
light in Evergreen, just below the dam. Go south (right if coming
from I-70) on hwy 73 towards Conifer. Make the first right, about 3/4
mile up, on Buffalo Park Rd. Continue up the hill, past the high
school, past the lower Alderfer lots, to the open meadows at the top.
Park in the dirt lot on the right, just past the yellow house.
The ERC runs are usually about an hour long. Sometimes a few people
will meet early or continue after the run to get in more mileage.
They usually go out for coffee/breakfast afterwards. I don't lead
these runs, so please don't ask me the questions. For more info about
the ERC schedules, go to:

Upcoming schedule:
8/23-Mt. Evans Wildlife Refuge

"Colleen [Stroud] currently has a Hood to Coast (HTC) team currently
and desperately in need of a female runner. Hood to Coast is a 196-
mile, 12-man relay from Mt Hood to Seaside in Oregon. This is
extremely late notice, but does anyone know a female runner that
would be interested. The dates for the race are 8/22 and 8/23. The
flights would be 8/21-8/24.
Please contact Colleen [Colleen_Stroud@... ] if you know
of anyone.
More information about the race can be found at www.hoodtocoast.com"

Travis Daniels writes:
" We had a group together for this upcoming Colorado, but our team
lost a couple of teamates just reciently, so we are looking to add
four new runners of any ability to join our team.
We were trying to get a true mixed team of five men, and five women,
but that is not our priority right now.
This race is a fantastic race that starts from idaho springs, and
ends up in Glendwood Springs for the total amount of 170 miles. Each
team consist of 10 runners. Each runner is required to run three
legs of the relay, that average in distance from 3 - 7 miles per
leg."
