The Wednesday morning run will be running the stairs at Red Rocks.
Meet at the TnT lot in Morrison at 5:45am and run up, or at the
ampitheatre at 6:00am.
TnT: Take C470 to the Morrison, hwy 74 exit. Go west into Morrison.
TnT is the last eatery on the left, shortly before the light at hwy 8.
Ampitheatre: From C470, take the Morrison exit. Head west, through
the town of Morrison. Go past the traffic light at hwy 8. Take the
next right and follow the signs to the Trading Post.
From I-70, take the Red Rocks exit, #259. Go south, about 1 mile down
the hill. Turn right into Red Rocks and follow the signs to the
ampitheatre.

This Thursday's run is at Ken Caryl (T=2-4, P=4). Meet at the Manor
House. The main group will start at 6:15pm. An informal early group
usually starts at around 5:30pm.
Directions: Take C-470 to the Ken Caryl exit. Go west, into the
canyon. Stay right at the "Y" and go about 1.3mi. Take the 2nd right
after the "Y" onto Mountain Laurel Dr. You should see a sign to the
Manor House. About 200 yds. up, take the next right onto Manor House
Rd. and follow the signs to the Manor House, the large white house on
the hill. Please park at the far end of the lower lot, on the
northeast side of the restaurant.
Route: Head west on the Manor trail, a wide, dirt path. This is a
long climb of about 2.5-3mi. At a plateau, head right onto a single
track. This continues to climb, zig-zagging to the north. The slower
runners should turn and head back down the same way after 35-40
minutes. For the faster runners, the trail curves back towards the
east and crests the top. Just as it starts to head down, go right
onto another single track trail. This is a narrow, technical trail
that will lead you back to the Manor House trail. Then, head down to
the start. I will try to bring ribbons or flour to mark the turns.
Alt Route: There's another route we've taken over the winter. It
doesn't have any big climbs. I don't know how to describe the route.
Hopefully Kendra will be there to lead the way. The route goes right
off of the Manor House trail near the start, before the big climb
begins. It goes north for a bit, through a short neighborhood
section, east down a valley, south towards the "Y", then back up to
the Manor House along a ridge.
Note: The runs are not intended to be races. Run as hard or easy as
you want. Please don't be intimidated. Everyone is welcome regardless
of ability.
Schedule (subject to change):
8/14: Lair 'o the Bear, potluck picnic
8/21: Mt. Falcon time trial
8/28: North Table Mtn.

There is no Evergreen Runners Circle (ERC) run this Saturday. Many of
them will be doing the Georgetown-Idaho Springs ½-marathon instead.
The ERC runs are usually about an hour long. Sometimes a few people
will meet early or continue after the run to get in more mileage.
They usually go out for coffee/breakfast afterwards. I don't lead
these runs, so please don't ask me the questions. For more info about
the ERC schedules, go to:

Upcoming schedule:

Every Sunday, the Incline Club meets to run in the Pikes Peak area.
It's a large group with wide range of abilities. The runs start at
8am sharp in Manitou Springs. The runs typically are 2-3.5 hours.
They have upwards of 100 runners with a wide range of abilities. Let
me know if you are interested in joining/forming a carpool, and what
part of town you will be coming from. For more info on these runs,
including a map and detailed description of this Sunday's route, go
to www.inclineclub.com.
Looking for company on a long weekend run? Want to carpool to a
mountain race, Incline Club run or other outing? Let me know and I'll
send out the word. Please send me specific information about where
and when you want people to meet, or how to contact you. Please try
to send me the information a week in advance so I have time to get it
into my weekly message. Don't wait for me to plan everything!
