There is no potluck this Thursday. It's just a run. Although, you are
welcome to bring me any goodies. :)

Course: Start on the bike path on the south side of Morrison Rd. and
follow it for about 1/2 mi into the park. Just before the park road,
go right across the first bridge, then take an immediate left onto
the single track. Follow the trail for about 1/4mi, go through the
parking lot, cross the road, then pick up the trail on the other side
of the road. Follow the trail east along the south side of Bear
Creek. It turns into a wide path with some exercise station. About 2
miles from the start, the path curves to the right. Look for a single
track trail to the left, going east over a small hill. This lets you
out into a large dirt parking lot. Go south across the top of the lot
and pick up the trail on the other side, between some rocks, heading
down the hill, to the river. Cross the river on the rocks, then go
left on the single track towards Mt. Carbon.

When you hit the road at the base of the mountain, the slower runners
should go left and follow it across the base of the dam. At the far
side of the dam, just before the chain, go left onto a sigle track
trail and follow it along the north side of the lake. It comes out at
the paved boat ramp parking lot. Cross the lot. Just past the other
side. go left on the dirt path. This follows the creek on the north
side and will lead you back towards the start. If you prefer, you can
also go out on the road and follow it back.

The faster runners will climb the trail to the top of Mt. Carbon. At
the top, continue east for about 75 yards staying on the left edge.
Look for a small trail leading down the side. This should take you to
the dirt road at the top of the dam. Run across the dam. At the far
end, go left down the road. Although, the fastest group may take some
trails from there. If you go down the road, go through the parking
lot at the bottom and pick up the trail. Then follow the above
directions back.
