+ Wednesday morning run: Red Rocks stairs and trails
+ Thursday evening run: Apex
+ Saturday's Evergreen Runners Circle run: Alderfer/3 Sisters
+ Thur morning run
+ Weekend Run:
+ Trail races, Clinics and other upcoming events
+ Volunteer opportunities
+ Race and camping weekend, June 28
+ Other weekend outings and carpool opportunities
+ Trail/Mud Reports

28 runners did the time trial last week, at least that's how many
times I got. Times ranged from 24 to 51 minutes. If you ran early,
please send me your time. I won't publish it anywhere. I'll use the
times to handicap the starts. The slowest people get to start first.
The faster ones have to catch you. That way, everyone should finish
at about the same time, and we can do a more casual group run
together at the top before heading back down.

The Wednesday morning runs continue at Red Rocks. We will meet here
every Wednesday until further notice. The group does several stair
repeats - great for building hip power and running up hills - along
with a warm-up and cool-down on the roads/trails around the
ampitheatre.

Meet at about 5:50am at TnT's in Morrison. Take C-470 to the Morrison
exit. Go west into the town. TnT is the last place on the left, just
before the light at hwy 8.

Or, meet at 6am at the ampitheatre. Continue west another 1/4mi from
TnT. Take the next right after hwy 8, after the elementary school,
and follow the signs to the Trading Post. Park and run/walk into the
ampitheatre.

From I-70, take the Red Rocks exit, #259. Go south, about 1 mile down
the hill. Turn right into Red Rocks and follow the signs to the
Trading Post.

This Thursday's run is at Apex (T=4, P=3). The early group will meet
at 5:30pm; look for Mike, Chris, and Connie. The main group will
start at 6:15pm.

Schedule (subject to change):
5/29-Deer Creek, pot-luck picnic after run
6/5-White Ranch
6/12-Green Mtn or North Table Mtn
6/19-Falcon time trial
6/26-Lair of the Bear, pot-luck picnic

This Saturday's Evergreen Runners Circle (ERC) run is at Alderfer/3
Sisters (T=3, P=3) at 8:30am sharp. Take the Evergreen Parkway exit,
hwy 74, #252, from I-70, to the main light in Evergreen, just below
the dam. Go south (right if coming from I-70) on hwy 73 towards
Conifer. Make the first right, about 3/4 mile up, on Buffalo Park Rd.
Continue up the hill, past the high school, past the lower Alderfer
lots, to the open meadows at the top. Park in the dirt lot on the
right, just past the yellow house.

Aaron Ruhnow is looking for a 1-way ride, for him and his bike to
Alderfer on Saturday morning. He lives in Highlands Ranch, but can
meet you anywhere in the SW metro area (e.g., Ken Caryl, Littleton)
He only needs a ride there. He'll be riding back home. Contact him at
AaronRuhnow@...

The ERC runs are usually about an hour long. Sometimes a few people
will meet early or continue after the run to get in more mileage.
They usually go out for coffee/breakfast afterwards. I don't lead
these runs, so please don't ask me the questions. For more info about
the ERC schedules, go to:

Every Sunday, the Incline Club meets to run in the Pikes Peak area.
It's a large group with wide range of abilities. The runs start at
8am sharp in Manitou Springs. The runs typically are 2-3.5 hours.
They have upwards of 100 runners with a wide range of abilities. Let
me know if you are interested in joining/forming a carpool, and what
part of town you will be coming from. For more info on these runs,
including a map and detailed description of this Sunday's route, go
to www.inclineclub.com.

Looking for company on a long weekend run? Want to carpool to a
mountain race, Incline Club run or other outing? Let me know and I'll
send out the word. Please send me specific information about where
and when you want people to meet, or how to contact you. Please try
to send me the information a week in advance so I have time to get it
into my weekly message. Don't wait for me to plan everything!

I'm still looking for updated conditions, as the snow melts and trees
are cleared, from: higher up 285 (e.g., Kenosha Pass, Lost Creek
Wilderness), I-70 (e.g., Argentine Pass Rd, Grays & Torreys, Herman's
Gulch), along Peak-to-Peak hwy (e.g., Golden Gate Canyon State Park,
Rollinsville), and the Roxborough, Pikes Natl Forest, Colo Trail
areas. Please send updates to me on Mondays so I can include them in
next week's newsletter.
