+ Thursday evening run: Lookout Mtn.
+ Fireworks at School of Mines after the run
+ Saturday's Evergreen Runners Circle run:
+ Snowshoe, trail, and other upcoming events
+ Other weekend outings and carpool opportunities
This Thursday's run is at Lookout Mtn. at 6:15pm.
Meet at the dirt turnout, at the first hairpin turn, just above the
pillars. Take hwy 6 to Golden. Turn west at Lookout Mtn/19th ave. The
turnout is about 3/4-mile up, just above the pillars. There's a porta-
potty in the small park on the left, below the pillars.
I'm expecting this will be a road run. The Chimney Gulch trail is
probably too muddy. The road is a great hill workout climbing over
1200' in 4.5mi, if you make it all the way up to the park. We're
running here so we can easily get to Brooke and Warren's for the
fireworks show afterwards; see below.

After the run, come watch the Engineering Day Fireworks Show at the
School of Mines. " This is simply the best fireworks display that you
will ever see in your life and will in all likelihood ruin any future
displays that you might attend (except for next year's E-days)."
Brooke and Warren are hosting a party at their condo, which overlooks
the field where the show is held. Warren is cooking pasta. There will
also be garlic bread, vegetarian sauce, salad, snacks and drinks.
Bring your own alcohol.
Directions from the run: Go down the hill. Lookout Mtn becomes 19th
ave when you cross hwy 6. If coming from Denver, take hwy 6 to Golden
and turn right at 19th. A few blocks past hwy 6, turn left on
Washington and drive through downtown. Turn left on 11th, at the
Golden Hotel. Go to the end and make a left on Maple. Their complex
is the first one on the right, the second unit from the left, 1108
Maple. 303-216-9712.

I haven't seen a new schedule for the Saturday Evergreen Runners
Circle (ERC) runs. There is still a lot of snow up there, so running
may be sketchy there for a while. If anyone is interested in a group
run on the weekend, suggest a time and place and I will help get out
the word.
The ERC runs are usually about an hour long. Sometimes a few people
will meet early or continue after the run to get in more mileage.
They usually go out for coffee/breakfast afterwards. I don't lead
these runs, so please don't ask me the questions. For more info about
the ERC schedules, go to:

Every Sunday, the Incline Club meets to run in the Pikes Peak area.
It's a large group with wide range of abilities. The runs start at
8am sharp in Manitou Springs. The runs typically are 2-3.5 hours.
They have upwards of 100 runners with a wide range of abilities. Let
me know if you are interested in joining/forming a carpool, and what
part of town you will be coming from. For more info on these runs,
including a map and detailed description of this Sunday's route, go
to www.inclineclub.com.
Clark Fox is always looking for fellow powder hounds on the weekends.
He usually goes tele-skiing, but welcomes company if you just want to
go snowshoeing or otherwise play in the snow. For info, contact him
at cfox@...
Looking for company on a weekend run, ski, snowshoe, or other outing?
Want to carpool to a snowshoe race or future Incline Club run? Let me
know and I'll send out the word. Please send me specific information
about where and when you want people to meet, or how to contact you.
Please try to send me the information a week in advance so I have
time to get it into my weekly message. Don't wait for me to plan
everything!
