The run was a bust last week. I got a report that the bike path and
lot wasn't cleared so I didn't show. I know at least one person did.
I lost power so I couldn't get on my computer to post a warning. I
apologize if anyone else showed up to the non-run.

The Wednesday morning run is at Genesee Mtn. (T=1, P=2) at 6:00am.
Take I-70 to the Genesee/Buffalo Overlook, #254. Go south, left (if
coming from Denver) across the highway. Go left on the frontage road
a short distance, then left into the lot. Note: This is different
than where we typically meet. We are meeting at the lot on the South
(not the north) side of I-70.

This Thursday's run is at Bear Creek Lake Park (T=2, P=1-2) at 6:15pm.
Take C-470 to Morrison Rd. Go west. Take the first right at Rooney
Rd, then an immediate right into the dirt lot, across from the Conoco
Station. Meet in the lot. If traffic is heavy and coming from
downtown, take 6th to the end of the freeway. Turn left at the light,
US40. Continue about a mile to the first light after the C470
overpass. Turn left onto Rooney Road. Go past Green Mt, ~1/2mi, to
hwy 26. Turn left, cross over C-470, then take the next right back
onto Rooney Rd.
We'll probably run the road inside the park since I doubt the trails
will be ready. Start on the bike path on the south side of Morrison
Rd. The bike path leads to the main park road. Follow the road east
to the dam. At the base of the dam, go left up the road. Depending on
your time, at the top of the dam, either go right, out and back
across the top of the dam, or down the back side to the golf course
and back.
If we do run the trail, go right across the first bridge, just before
you reach the park road. Take an immediate left on the single track
on the other side of the bridge. Go through the picnic area, cross
the road, then continue east on the trail on the other side. Follow
the trail to until it turns south. Look for a single track on the
left. Take the trail over a small hill to the large, dirt parking
lot. Cross the lot to the south, staying along the western side. Look
for some rocks marking the trail on the south side. Go between the
rocks and down the trail to the river. Cross the river, then go left
to the base of Mt. Carbon. At the road at the base of the mt., go
left and follow the road across the base of the dam. At the other
end, go left on the main road and follow it back to the start.

The Saturday Evergreen Runners Circle (ERC) run is at Alderfer/3
Sisters (T=3, P=3) at 8:30am sharp. Take the Evergreen Parkway exit,
hwy 74, #252, from I-70, to the main light in Evergreen, just below
the dam. Go south (right if coming from I-70) on hwy 73 towards
Conifer. Make the first right, about 3/4-mile up, on Buffalo Park Rd.
Continue up the hill, past the high school, past the lower Alderfer
lots, to the open meadows at the top. Park in the dirt lot on the
right, just past the yellow house.
The ERC runs are usually about an hour long. Sometimes a few people
will meet early or continue after the run to get in more mileage.
They usually go out for coffee/breakfast afterwards. I don't lead
these runs, so please don't ask me the questions. For more info about
the ERC schedules, go to:

The Grand Canyon is the weekend of April 19 (I know it's Easter). You
are still welcome to join us. Some will do a double crossing, south
rim-north-rim-south rim, 42-48 miles depending on your route, with
11,000' of climbing. Others are doing shorter runs/hikes, 15-25
miles. Some of us may add a stop in Moab for some mtn biking on the
way out and/or back. This helps break up the drive, about 685 miles.
It would end up being a 3-4 day weekend. I have reserved a group
campsite, so there should be plenty of room for all. Lodging may be
available; you have to arrange that on your own. If you've never been
there, it's a must see, even if you don't want to run. All are
welcome, even if you're not a runner. Let me know if you are
interested, runahill@...

Every Sunday, the Incline Club meets to run in the Pikes Peak area.
It's a large group with wide range of abilities. The runs start at
8am sharp in Manitou Springs. The runs are typically 2-3.5 hours.
They have upwards of 100 runners with a wide range of abilities. Let
me know if you are interested in joining/forming a carpool, and what
part of town you will be coming from. For more info on these runs,
including a map and detailed description of this Sunday's route, go
to www.inclineclub.com.
Clark Fox is always looking for fellow powder hounds on the weekends.
He usually goes tele-skiing, but welcomes company if you just want to
go snowshoeing or otherwise play in the snow. For info, contact him
at cfox@...
Looking for company on a weekend run, ski, snowshoe, or other outing?
Want to carpool to a snowshoe race or future Incline Club run? Let me
know and I'll send out the word. Please send me specific information
about where and when you want people to meet, or how to contact you.
Please try to send me the information a week in advance so I have
time to get it into my weekly message. Don't wait for me to plan
everything!
