The Wednesday morning run is at Matthew Winters (T=3, P=3) this week.
Take I-70 to exit 259. Go south about 100 yards, then turn right into
the lot. The run starts at 6AM.

This Thursday's run is at Green Mtn. (T=3, P=2-4) at 6:15pm, since so
many of you missed the snow run here a couple of weeks ago. I may not
join you this week so don't wait for me. Look for Dave, Kendra, Joe,
and some of the regulars to answer any questions.
From Denver, take 6th ave to the end of the freeway. Turn left at the
first light, Colfax or US 40. Go about 1 mile, just under the C-470
extension, and turn left at the light, Rooney Road. The lot is about
1 mile ahead on the left.
From the south, take C-470 to Morrison Rd. Go west, then take the
first right on Rooney Road, before you enter Morrison, by the Conoco
station. About 2.5 miles up, the road ends at Alameda. Go left, cross
over C-470, then take the next right onto Rooney Road again. The lot
is about 1/3 mile up on the right.
Route: Run up the path and across the pedestrian bridge over C=470.
Take either of the dirt trails to the right, not the paved bike path
or the wide dirt service road. We typically take the one on the far
right; it's a little shorter. They merge in about 0.7mi. This is the
first place you can take a left and climb a trail to the top. Do not
go left here. Follow the main trail around the southern side of the
mtn. This is a rolling trail with a few, short, ups and downs. The
footing is pretty good when it's dry.
Beginner: Continue around to the dirt lot at Alameda & Florida
(~3.25mi), or for 30 minutes. Then return along the same trail. This
avoids the big climbs to the top.
Intermediate: At the Utah trailhead sign (~2.9mi), go left up the
hill. This is the 3rd left you can take to the top (the 2nd is at
~2.0mo). This is just short of halfway in terms of time, depending on
how you handle hills. About 1/2 mile up, take a sharp left at the
fork. You have about another mile to the top. At the top, at the
large service road, go left. West, over the rise and follow the wide
service road back down to the bridge. The last mile is steep and
fast. ~6.4mi.
Advanced: Continue past the Utah trailhead to the Florida lot
(~3.25mi). You are not quite halfway yet. At the far end of the lot,
go left up the trail. The trail switchbacks up, comes over a rise and
around a sweeping right curve, then makes a 90 degree left turn. At
the first (I think) flat section, after the first steep pitch, after
the left, about 0.6mi from the Florida lot, look for a trail on the
left. Follow this trail to the fork on the Utah trail, take a right,
then continue another mile to the top. From there, go west on the
service road to the finish. ~7.2mi.
Expert - Continue straight, past the Florida lot, ~0.3mi. Go left up
a steep hill. This merges with the Advanced route at their 90 degree
left turn. Follow the advanced route back to the service road.
Shortly after the service road comes over the top of the hill, at a
sharp left turn, just before the road gets steep, skip the left and
go straight on a single track trail. In ~1/4-mi, go left on another
single track. Follow the switchbacks down the hill ~3/4-mi to a
saddle. Go left down a steep hill. Follow this trail down and up two
hills to the service road, then go right on the road back to the
bridge. ~7.7mi
If you are late, you can run the route in reverse and meet us. From
the start, go left up the service road and continue to the radio
towers.

The Saturday Evergreen Runners Circle (ERC) run is at Upper Bear
Creek Rd, 5mi mark (T=1, P=2) at 8:30am sharp. This run is on a mix
of paved and dirt roads, so trail shoes aren't needed. Take the
Evergreen Parkway, hwy 74, exit 252 from I-70. Continue through
Bergen Park, past Elk Meadow, and down the hill to the lake. At the
bottom of the hill, just before the road turns left at the lake, turn
right onto Upper Bear Creek Rd. Go West 5 miles to a large turnout on
the right, at the 5mile marker. If you are late, the run goes west up
the road. About 1 mi, just after the curve and hill, turn right on
the dirt road. Follow the dirt road ~2mi to the gate, then run back
the same way.
The ERC runs are usually about an hour long. Sometimes a few people
will meet early or continue after the run to get in more mileage.
They usually go out for coffee/breakfast afterwards. I don't lead
these runs, so please don't ask me the questions. For more info about
the ERC schedules, go to:

Does anyone have an entry they want to sell for the Canyonlands half-

The Grand Canyon run is the weekend of April 19 (I know it's Easter).
You are still welcome to join us. Some will do a double crossing,
south rim-north-rim-south rim, 42-48 miles depending on your route,
with 11,000' of climbing. Others are doing shorter runs/hikes, 15-25
miles. Some of us may add a stop in Moab for some mtn biking on the
way out and/or back. This helps break up the drive, about 685 miles.
It would end up being a 3-4 day weekend. Camping or lodging may be
available, depending on availability. If you've never been there,
it's a must see, even if you don't want to run. All are welcome, even
if you're not a runner. Let me know if you are interested,

Every Sunday, the Incline Club meets to run in the Pikes Peak area.
It's a large group with wide range of abilities. The runs start at
8am sharp in Manitou Springs. The runs typically are 2-3.5 hours.
They have upwards of 100 runners with a wide range of abilities. Let
me know if you are interested in joining/forming a carpool, and what
part of town you will be coming from. For more info on these runs,
including a map and detailed description of each Sunday's route, go
to www.inclineclub.com.
Clark Fox is always looking for fellow powder hounds on the weekends.
He usually goes tele-skiing, but welcomes company if you just want to
go snowshoeing or otherwise play in the snow. For info, contact him
at cfox@...
Looking for company on a weekend run, ski, snowshoe, or other outing?
Want to carpool to a snowshoe race or future Incline Club run? Let me
know and I'll send out the word. Please send me specific information
about where and when you want people to meet, or how to contact you.
Please try to send me the information a week in advance so I have
time to get it into my weekly message. Don't wait for me to plan
everything!
