This week's run is at South Valley Park. The early group meets at
5:30pm; the main group starts at 6:15pm. Please allow for extra
driving time in the snow.
Run Notes: This is one of our flatter runs. We'll determine whether to
do the the hogback option, or our normal route on the Grazing Elk trail.
The Grazing Elk loop doesn't have a good short option. For that, I
suggest either going only part way onto the loop then back, or some
variation of the hogback route. There should be DTR regulars who can
help guide the different groups.
For the hogback route, read the message from Sept.
http://sports.groups.yahoo.com/group/DenverTrailRunners/message/1050
and look at the Jeffco OS map. These maps should be available at the
park too.

For the Grazing Elk, normal route, refer to the map on the DTR site.
Expect either some snow a few inches expected tomorrow), or hard
dirt/mud. You shouldn't need traction devices, but it's up to you. A
few inches of snow makes for great footing.
Remember to bring warm and dry clothing for after the run.
Everyone is invited to join us for dinner after the run. At the end of
the run, the group will pick a nearby restaurant.
DTR runs are not races. We ask the faster runners to start slowly for
the first several minutes. Once we're into the run, we'll spread out
and tend to naturally form smaller sub-groups by pace. Please stop and
regroup, at key intersections. Those of you familiar with the trails,
please help lead/guide the sub-groups for the other runners.
Carpool: There's a regular carpool group for those of you who
live/work near downtown. Meet at the corner of 9th and Elati, by
Denver West High School, at 5:25 each Thursday. We will alternate who
drives. The link below has a map.
