We had our May 4th General Club Meeting at the race grounds with 26
members present. The biggest issue to be discussed was the fact that
the club does not have enough money to pay for the May race without
finding ways to produce more money for the club. Many solutions were
discussed and three things were voted on.
First - A motion was made to charge a $25 Camping fee to all club
members to help raise money. All voted yes, with no objections made.
Second- A motion was made to run the Street Drags to draw more
spectators and to help raise money. All voted yes, with no objections
made.
Third- A motion was made to go ahead and have the May Race.
All voted yes, with no objections. It was suggested that, if possible,
to have the members that were present at today's meeting go ahead and
pay the camping fee in order to give Rick a little more working
revenue. Eighteen family members paid for their camping fees today.
Just remember to bring extra cash with you Race weekend to pay the
camping fee!!
Other ways to help raise money is to have members make copies of the
Race Event flyers and put out in local business places, put out
separate containers to recycle aluminum cans, have members' wives bake
cookies, cup cakes or fudge and bring to the Concession Stand to sell,
allow spectators to take personal vehicle back to viewing field for
$10 per day and to use Stan's trailer to carry off trash instead of
using the commercial dumpsters. Any suggestions from members that
could not attend today's meeting is more than welcomed to be put before
As for getting ready for the May Race event, we still need people to
be at the track each weekend between now and race weekend to mow the
grass and weed eat around the poles down the drag strip and the tires
around the Figure 8.
We are still needing people to donate weed killer so we can control
the weeds around the poles down the drag strip and the tires around
the Figure 8. Call Ken or Bill if you have weed killer spray solution
to be used.

Bill agreed to be the President one more year provided the members
came forward and became active members by helping the club during the
race and in preparing the grounds before the race. Now is the time
for ALL members to step forward and give their support.
