The Davis Senior Soccer League (DSSL) is a players league designed for older players to participate in the physical sport of soccer. The league consists of 10 co-ed teams that field either 7 or 8 per side for 60 minute games once a week. Female participants must be age 30 and over and male participants 40 and over. The league is primarily non-competitive with an emphasis on fun and conditioning. The matches can be strenuous. Games are scheduled for Playfields Park in Davis on Monday nights at three times: the first game is scheduled for 6:00pm, the second game at 7:00pm, and finally, the last game at 8:00pm. The regulation field is split into two, and portable goals placed on the East and West sidelines of the field. Two games are played simultaneously in each timeslot. Sessions generally run for an 18 week schedule. Each team has a captain who is responsible for collecting fees and attending League meetings when called.

Goalies normally rotate on each team but that is as they see fit.
Equal numbers of players per side (# of Men & # of Women)
Free Substitutions as necessary.

Schedule rotates timeslots and opposing teams. Teams wear a single color jersey. Captains and Co-Captains are denoted on the schedules. Go to the Photos Section of Yahoo Groups to obtain a copy of the current schedule.

Captain's meetings are held the first Tuesday after the start of a new season at 7:00pm. The League Administrator or Assistant Administrator may call additional Captain's meetings at his/her discretion.

DSSL is hosted by the City of Davis, who charges a nominal fee for the use of the field and for lighting. Strict rules govern the use of facilities which protect the fields. One of this listservs primary duties is to deliver messages.
