THE MARATHON
The full inline skate marathon will be 26.2 miles, that will be achieved through a series of laps around the course. The race will take place on Mason Street from Halleck Street through Marine Drive. One lap along the course is 1.5 miles, needing almost 18 laps to complete the race.
Competitors will travel westbound on Mason Street for the outbound leg, and return eastbound on Mason Street for the return leg. Mason Street will be COMPLETELY CLOSED OFF to vehicle traffic along the course, so skaters will have a safe course.
The first race will begin with the recreational skaters followed by the pros, concluding with an award ceremony for all.
A free seminar with inline pro champion Kim Perkins will be held at The Sports Basement¢s Presidio location June 21, 2007 at 7:00 p.m.
