Waylaid by Seattle like weather, at last we skate   Message List

Last week on the FNS the core skaters came out after
having been denied for weeks by rainy weather to skate
the FNS.

Our hopes of a return to skatable weather were
drenched as the skies first trickled then poured. Some
skaters being caught around Fort Mason, made their way
to the Voodoo Lounge at Vaness and Lumbard.

After a short time the rain had stopped, but the
streets were still wet. A cheery group left the Voodoo
Lounge and continued to skate. This group primarily
consisted of the downhill contingent with a few of the
FNS regulars.

Surprisingly, the wet roads were not slippery and we
continued to Broadway and down Stockton. We made our
way to the Stockton garage for our usual laps down the
spiral, but tonight we would be surprised. The first
portion of the group got Punked by the security
manager who intercepted our elevator ride using his
mangers key on the second floor. He met us with a big
grin saying "and where are you guys going"?

We quietly exited the parking garage, but not to be
denied, we skated to the third floor entrance and
enjoyed our usual skate in the Garage.

We headed to the wet concrete canyons and this writer
had to leave, but I hear the others continued to the
Banana republic garage and probably Beal Street
afterwords.

This week despite foreboding forecasts, the weather
stayed dry as the FNS went down without a hitch. This
blog will not repeat the above for last night's skate,
we had a great skate meeting at the end to wet our
whistles at Beal Street.

Don't forget for those who can make it support "D" and
his effort to close the park on Saturdays this week.
