I for one count myself disappointed and perplexed. I am just not happy with all the question marks about Brown, Dreifort and Ashby . I sincerely believe that these three owe a huge rebate on their salaries. Collectively they were worth about $ 1. 75 last year and may not be better this year. The hitters and position roles are also open to questions :

1)  Why Fred Mc Griff ? Don't we have anyone ready to step up from the minors that can fill Karras' cleats ? First base is not that difficult to move to if we had any power hitters it would be worth the risk.

2) almost 1a...Good Lord..Why Hundley again ? Can the man play anywhere?

3) Why did we give up on Dave Hansen again ?  Does this mean we'll resign him next year or whenever he's a free agent to an even fatter contract to PH ? 

4) Is Beltre ever going to be the 'star' he's made up to be, or is he another Todd Hollandsworth. Of course even Todd is better than some of our OF's.

5) Is Roberts a "one year wonder ". He was dying the second half last year, is that the real player showing through or will be able to keep his composure an entire season and produce as the lead-off guy we need so desperately.

6) ditto for Jordan, only reverse the first half for Roberts' second. Is the man ready and able to play in LA with all his heart, or is he just another Dodger wannabe like Tyler and hundreds like him in the '90's.

7) Who's at 2nd ? Who's at short ? Stay tuned, the Dodger's brass doesn't know either. On paper Cora looks best of all....ouch !

8) Do we even have a bench anymore ?

9) Tracy's a good, solid Alston type manager up front but does he have Walt's guts and fire to make under-achievers work and produce. We need to see it.

So, there it is. More questions bombard me as I type so I better close before I come off as a Giant's fan or something.

In closing, congrats to Mike Scoscia and Mickey Hatcher and the Angels. I guess I cannot call them the " Damned Angels" any longer. It was good to see some Dodgers in a World Series, even if it wasn't the Boys in Blue.
