It is for players only. I will provide the Singha tournament registration list to Tom and your name will be checked against the list at the gate of the VIP area. This festival is a huge event at a park; to reduce confusion and be able to optimize fun, it is better to go in big groups.
Outdoor is not as comfortable as indoor, light clothing is a good idea.

Badminton friends,
The Singha tournament is designed for you. The format allows you to meet and/or
play against players from different corners of Northern Virginia, Maryland, and
D.C. Separating A,B,C,D means you will play in group of players about your level
from different clubs. This tournament is designed to include you to be a
tournament player. Many players participated in previous similar events
continued on to competing in USAB sanctioned tournaments. Even if you think you
will never go that direction, this is a local badminton community event
(provides lunch with not extra fee). In participating, you contribute your
energy and enthusiasm to our badminton community. This is one of the ways to
tell Recreation and Community of Fairfax County that we are here; support and
provide us.
I did not mention prize money yet because I truly want everyone to enjoy a day
of matches without thinking about $prize and/or trophy in mind. It is the
spirit, isn't it.
In another perspective of equal importancy, this tournament is part of the
annual Asian Festival Cultural Event which has gain enormous attention
throughout Northern Virginia in the last few years. In particpating, not only
you take part in this cultural and diversity event, you are automatically
invited to the award ceremony party with beer and catering.
Yes, badminton is "Quality of Life" for us, the badminton community.

For those who interested in junior class for their kids, there is a junior badminton summer class every wednesday and friday evening at Holmes middle school, 6525 Montrose street, Alexandria,VA.
Attached below the link for Singha 2009 Badminton Tournament. Let's gear up and find your partner. It will be fun and competitive tournament, guarantee!!
I just moved to Arlington and have been trying to find time to play badminton. I am a beginner and had played a few times of singles and double games 4-5yrs or so ago.Anyway, I am a female in my early 30's and would like to play maybe 1-2x on weekday nights or sundays. So I guess a club in the Arlington/Ballston area would be perfect!

Sure I would be interested and I bet there are at least 10 others like who live around ballston who would be interested.
