Having problems with message search?
Green Drinks on 6th November is a good idea.
Alasdair is certainly right that NHDC and HCC are doing nothing. Meanwhile things are going in the wrong direction as Hertfordshire Highway add hazards to the roads. They even use the proposed cycle network as a reason for ignoring cycling - if a road does not appear on the network then cyclists don't need to be considered at all!

I think it would be good to set aside some time for a considered discussion inviting all the people who've expressed an interest in a cycle group (48 or so from Hitchin) and really explore what is the best 'unit' of campaigning and action, what would be possible to sustain and how what we do links into other groups in the area. We could piggyback on green drinks for a bit, but I
think we still need a one off session well planned and structured, which
includes people who haven't found our usual pub meetings helpful or engaging so far.
Dan from N Herts FoE tells me that he's very busy until April next year, but he is thinking that some kind of umbrella network is needed for making environmental progress in Hitchin.
Perhaps we can try and find out what his timetable is?
I think we need to be reaching people who aren't already cyclists.
Perhaps we can all try and get to Green Drinks on 6 November?
