I have a scheduling conflict and will not be able to make it there this Saturday. Whoever is going to place the hacks in and pebble the ice needs to be there by 7pm. As soon as you can get the ice start placing the hacks. I have found that if I place them outside to warm up I don't need to soak them in hot water. I then will use a blow torch( you will have to bring your own) to finish warming the metal base. Square them up and place them on the ice. I then will take the blow torch and move it over the center area of the hacks to allow the spikes to penetrate the ice. Place two stones on the hack and use the squeegee (from the Zamboni room) to remove any excess water. Then you can pebble the ice. The backpack pebbler is used first. You should pebble with that twice, about 8 gallons of water. The small pebbler is used to pebble the center line of each sheet, about 4 gallons in total.
Good curling!

The Glauser team will need at least one sub for this week as well. I cannot help with moving stones this week but will be there in time to make the ice.

Hi Everyone,
Great job curling last Saturday! Hope everyone had fun.
Next draw is this Saturday, 8/4. I will be out of town starting tomorrow, so my access to e-mail will be spotty. If you will be needing a sub, please send myself and Jon Wilson ( Jonswilson@...) an e-mail. So far myself and Margaret are looking for subs (if any non-league players on the list are interested…).
Also, can anyone volunteer to move the stones onto snow this week? Many thanks to the Meyer rink for taking on the task last week.
Last note – final league dates will be 8/18 and 8/25.
Good Curling!
