Hello, I just bought this 2009 Silvio frameset from a fellow BROL member. It's
Black and will include WTB handlebars. All other components not included. It's
in excellent shape. I just decided to stick with my low racer. $1600 and will
ship to U.S. only.
Thanks Andy

Hi,
I have done it. It works fine.
I looked up definition of 'hardtail' bike - and it says as ATB with aluminum
frame. I used a donor bike like that.
See these photos -

See the donor bike photo and the converted bike.

You could make the bike work. Keep in mind the seat pan for the kit
is 11inches long and the back will be mounted 4-8 inches in front of
the seat post so you need about 16 inches of fairly level top tube.
The seat pan tilt should be 4 inches from front to back.More than 4
inches and the pan will dig into your legs. You also want to be able to
rake the seat back 45 degrees or so for the best ride
If you use that frame just plan on doing some extra work
on the seat mount. Jack

Most shipping is done from the US, North Carolina, as I set that up for the US - where most of the action is. I still keep some stock in Australia.

Well that is a serious offer. Can you wait ten days? I am thinking of listing again on eBay to see if I can sell as a Cruz Bike. If I do not get an offer worth while....I will take the kit off and sell the bike separate.
The tires are 26 inch Maxxis Slicks 26x1.5. I bought them especially for the Cruz bike conversion and they are recommended up to 80 psi.
You are welcome to make an offer for the kit with or without tires/tubes. I do want to sell the kit, the bike and the tires within the next 2 months and will sell them seperate if it works out faster and better for everyone. I can check on the Australia Post web site together with the Cruzbike site (which may give the weight and dimensions of the kit) to see what postage will cost.
Here is a link for the Cruzbike conversion when listed on eBay. The best offer I got was $AU 550. I have only listed it once when there were free listings.
What size are the tires ? I need 26inch. I purchased one about 3 years ago so maybe shipping cost may have increased can we agree on a price ? and hopefully shipping will not cost much more
Thanks for that information. In that case I would probably be better to repack my conversion kit and sell it separate from the cycle. How are they shipping for only $45? I bought my kit from Western Australia. I live on the East Coast closer to the US by a long ways but the cost of shipping is probably the same.
I am a bit of an enthusiast and mainly wanted to build one of these bikes and learn how to ride it. I also have two high pressure slick tires with tubes that I bought to go on the donor bike. These may be of interest to you and probably easy to ship with the kit as well. The tires and kit have not done more than 100km as I have 9 bikes and was more interested in the building process and learning new riding skills than actually owning and regular riding of a cruz bike. I enjoyed my experience with it and I found they are a great bike for short fun rides as long as not too many steep hills to climb.

Sofrider and Freerider is about 430, it changes very slightly as the leg length
is adjusted, but is 430 at the central adjustment, where BB to seat back is
920mm. All cruzbikes allow fitment of the endless belt, because the chainstays
are removable.

John,
That means that the leg length adjustment could hypothetically be used to adjust
drive belt tension, right? It would "merely" require a belt of perfect length...

Maybe. I like the technology as well. I see the problem of keeping the
belt tensioned as the biggest problem. I see these possible solutions.
1) a free spinning "cogwheel" which is slightly bendable between the
front and rear cogwheel. I have seen it with a chain and it works fine.
2) eccentric bottom bracket
3) some sort of modified derailure arm which holds a cogwheel.

Hi,
Where you at? I am in Australia. I did not use the special rear axle on my kit as I used 2 rear wheels.....one in the front and one in the back, if you follow that.
So I have that axle spare if I can find it after 2 years. I am selling a Cruz bike conversion in Australia and would be interested in selling the kit seperate. Not practical to send the kit overseas but the axle would be.
Interesting thats a new one I allways thought the kit were shipped from Australia just how much to ship?please look for the axle and thanks
