I don't keep up real regularly with new bike developments
(mostly happy with my fleet as is), but I just checked out
the blog and the corresponding picture of the silvio.
First, I love the rear half of the bike. That's a spot
that's a lot of over-engineered dead weight on a regular
cruzbike, so seeing it all cleaned up into just what's
needed for a wheel to support the rider's weight is
great.
And I was wondering if you could save even more weight
by putting a 451 wheel back there. Lots of fast
recumbents push a small wheel out front, and I think
pulling a small wheel behind you is fundamentally
more stable than pushing one in front.
Opinions? How much do wheels weigh anyway? I don't
actually know how much savings is available going
that route.
