Hey everyone,
Let's try to practice thursday. 6pm somewhere, possible the turf
fields or maybe wood park at 33rd and O st. that way people can bring
dogs. if you can make it write back, if you can't write back also.
we need to get a routine set up or we aren't going to play this summer.
DAVE
I originally wanted to come up with some play on "corn" or something
to do with independence day, since the tourney will be around that
time, but I wasn't able to come up with anything catchy.
Sticking with classic formulas such as "Harvest Moon" and "Fool's
Fest," the best name for a tourney I've been able to come up with is
Summer Shag. Similarly, we could do Summer Shindig, or Summer
Splurge, but of the three I think Summer Shag rolls off the tongue
the smoothest.
Yeah, all I got for now.

hey all,
I will be up in omaha for some ultimate on wednesday. I will be
playing with the omaha people. I can see where, and let people know.
I want to get a schedule worked out for regular practice. Thursday in
lincoln for sure. Sunday, alternate between lincoln and omaha. I am
also going to go in and see about hosting a tournament in the fall.
It will be between sectionals and harvest moon. Most likely october
15-16. We can get 4 fields at east campus, and maybe even a girls
tournment also. 10 open and maybe 4-8 womens. that means we need a
name for the tournament, disk design and t-shirt design. but for this
to happen, we need people to step up. lets get things rollin and do
it.
DAVE
Hey all,
I'm not sure what all the ride situations are. Matt, Grant, Eric, and
myself are all riding down together. Mark is leaving early Saturday
morning and heading down. As for anyone else I have no idea. Chase,
if you need a ride, we could SQUEEZE you in, but give me a call. My
number is (402)871-7030. I don't know who else is leaving from
Lincoln. Plus, you know the only reason I offered is so that we can
steal your conformation number, strip you, and leave you somewhere on
the side of the road only to be later raped by Dave. Anyways, peace
for now, we're leaving at 6. If you get this, give me a call as
you're leaving so we know everyone got a ride. See you all there.
--Ryan
Not going, sorry guys. Also, way to step up Chase, looks like we
might have a challenge for Captain...fight to the death using only
frisbees and beer? Kyle.
Ok, here's the list of everyone I know of that's going:
Stickman
Nick
Branecki
Sean (on Sunday)
evil Chase
Kyle
Chase
Grant
Ryan
Matt
Eric
Jackson, Josh, and Tuggo: I didn't know if any of you guys were
planning on going or not. But if you need rides, get ahold of Ryan or
Grant.
Anyone who's going: if you need rides, call Ryan or Grant. That's
right, Ryan or Grant. Hell, call Ryan and Grant. Tell them I sent
you.
I made a room reservation with Days Inn. The address is:
3930 Rainbow Blvd.
Kansas City, KS, 66103 US
913-236-6880
I tried to print off a map, and it didn't like the address very much,
but I eventually got something printed which will lead us to
somewhere. Hopefully that somewhere is where we want to be. Oh, and
Ryan: you need me and my confirmation number to get into the hotel, so
don't even think about ditchin' me with the taxi.
Here's additional info from the website (http://www.kcusl.com/):
"Captain's Meeting will be at 8:30am on Saturday morning. Games will
begin at 9:30. Games will be played to 13 with a hard cap at 15. The
Second round will begin at 10:45. Third Round at 12:00. Fourth Round
at 1:15pm. Fith round at 2:30pm. Dinner/BBQ on fields will begin at
2:30. Beer will be provided on the fields as well. Sunday morning play
will begin after the pancake breakfast. Brackets will be announced on
Saturday morning. Captains will need to check in with Dan or Todd at
the fields to receive their informational packets and wristbands for
the party on Saturday night. If any questions please email
info@..., and we will reply as quickly as possible. Beer is
allowed at the fields, and we encourage you to bring plenty of water.
We will be having an early dinner on the fields catered by Torre's
Pizza&Catering Co. featuring great BBQ and specialty veggie meals. The
party will be held at the Dark Horse Tavern Saturday night and Senor
Oz(former Zontal) will be spinning the funk. Costumes Encouraged.
Sunday Breakfast will be served at the fields provided by Chris Cakes.
This wll be all you can eat.
Party Info-The Mayfest Party will be held at the Dark Horse
Tavern(4112 Pennsylvania) which is locally owned by ultimate frisbee
players. New Belgium Brewing Co. will be co-sponsoring the party and
providing some barrels of delicious brew. If you were at Fool's Fest
in Lawrence in 2003, you might remember Oz and Joe spinning the funk.
They will be spinning again this year for us. The Dark Horse is also
home to Kansas City's famous Torre's Pizza. Food is served all night
long and the bar is open until 3am. Costumes are encouraged. Important

Yer all welcome to bring along the toke and the glug, but avoid
overkill... at least on Friday night. I intend to whoop some ass
Saturday with my uber l33t Fr|zb33 sKilz.
All for now. I have no idea when we're leaving either, but if you
have questions, call Ryan or Grant. Ryan or Grant. Ryan or Grant.
-Chase
Hey all,
there is info on the tournament on kansas cities
website. Just go to upa.org and look for it under
tournaments. Captain's meeting is at 8:30 and first
game starts at 9:30. Ryan and Grant, i would like
you guys to go to that. (Eric you could also help them
out.) You guys might as well start getting used to
the captain stuff. i will talk to you guys more about
it at the tourny. Everyone else, please try to make
it to practice on thursday. So rides can be
discussed. also, we need some one to get a room
reserved. there is hotel info on the website
(http://www.kcultimate.com/) I don't have a credit
card, so i cannot do it. Someone step and help out.
Alright then kids, i will see you all saturday
morning.

OK, I just called pretty much everybody on the phone list that I have

Hey all,
Practice today will be at normal time, but at the turf fields. if nothing we
can
throw and run around. We should post when people can leave and who can
drive. I also need someone with a credit card to book some rooms. Mayfest
has a website, so get a hotel close to the party and maybe the fields. I will
not
be there until sat morning. I have to see if i will have any luck with the
ladies
else where, but i will be cockin out with my rock out this weekend. Ryan your
captain now. make it so.....HHAHAHAAH it isn't me anymore HAHAHAHAHA..
so peole make it easy for him. I will see you all at 6
DAVE
http://www.ultimatehandbook.com/uh/
I tried to send this to the old email server and I don't think it got
through. It's got some good animations on how a stack should flow,
running a horizontal stack (which after reading about, I think caters
to our plethora of speed and our dismal field awareness), and how we
could run an end-zone offense that takes advantage of our quick
handlers. Even if we don't want to employ any of it it's worth
studying to be able to recognize what's being done to us.
Is there practice tonight or what? Any communication is good
communication. You could get away with not replying to emails during
the school year, but even a simple "yes" is essential during the
summer. I'll be there at 6pm tonight.
Josh
I intend to go, but I haven't heard anything about what's going on.
I don't have a ride, and I have no idea where we're staying.
We should have practice this week. I'll show up at Mabel Lee at the
usual time tomorrow (Tues 6pm), I'll see anybody else there who shows
up. Hopefully we've still got the fields reserved at that time.
Also, there's only 10 people on this mailing list, so that means
everybody else on the team hasn't received any communication about
what the fuck's goin' on in weeks unless they've talked to one of us.
Bottom line: we need to contact everybody by phone, see who's
available both for the tourney and for practices this summer, and get
our shit together. So that means: captains, make it happen!
Anyway, hope to see some folks tomorrow. Gimme a call if y'all wanna
practice any other time. 712-223-2667.

I just mowed my parents lawn west of lincoln and I really think that
we could have an awesome time here. Invite some teams to play some
ultimate on some nice fields, then back here to have a bonfire, camp,
and drink. We should make this happen! Kyle.
First of all ... come to Omaha you bastards! Secondly, I guess I
could make it to Lincoln. Either way, I think it would be a good
idea to get at least one practise in here before the tournament, if
nothing else than to figure out ride and housing situations. We
could always try and get a scrimmage against UNO this weekend, or
something else up here in O town. Any suggestions? Im game for
anything, as long as Betty is by my side.
