Subject: West Plains Sectionals

Hey Captains,

I'm Mike Lun, the West Plains SC. This is my 3rd year doing this, so I think most of you know me by now. It's time to start taking care of College Series stuff again. If you are no longer in charge of your team please provide me with updated contact info for your team or try to point me in the right direction (if you are able to).

Here is some vital info about West Plains Sectionals:

Date: Apr 12-13
Location: Ames, IA

If you have any questions or concerns about the date and/or location of Sectionals please email me. I will send out more details soon. In the meantime...

Please reply to this email providing the following:
1. Current contact information for your team.
2. Do you plan to attend Sectionals this year, yes or no?
3. If yes, do you plan on bringing a B team?

You should've received an email from Geo, the Central RC, about Regionals by now. If you haven't, let me know, and I'll forward it to you.

Rostering info and registration deadlines will not be posted on the UPA page until Feb 8. I am unsure why HQ is behind schedule this year. I ususally have more info to pass along by now.

What I can tell you: It's crucial that all teams submit their rosters on time, both for your sake and for the growth of the Central Region. In recent years the West Plains has been the best section for submitting on time rosters in the region, which is why we had 5 bids to Regionals last year (a record for us), but we still had a few late rosters. If you hope to compete at Regionals this year, submitting your roster on time can greatly improve your chances to qualify. Getting a size bid to Nationals will also depend on how many rosters we submit on time. I'm expecting 10-12 teams to compete at Sectionals this year compared to last year's 9, so I know the region is growing and we have a shot at that size bid.

To ensure that we submit our rosters on time I'm going to set West Plains' I will send out specific dates and instructions to get your roster submitted on time and correctly after Feb 8th. The process is simple, but I would like to make sure all of us get everything done on time. For now, here's your assignment (Note: this isn't an official UPA deadline):

Feb 18: Make sure your entire team is registered with the UPA for 2008 by Feb 18th, 2008. This takes about 5 minutes per person online. You can find all the info you need here: https://www.upa.org/members/login.php

If you have any questions, please email me.

Good Luck this season,
Mike Lun
West Plains SC
