Goodbye everyone,

Here are some things that I needed to say.

I know that a number of you were upset about me, the captain and
president, not notifying or going to Lincoln today. Personally, I
don't give a crap. People that have a genuine lack of dedication in
the UNO Ultimate Frisbee Club, which is most members, don't have much
of a voice in my book. Yes, I know that I sound rude and upset.
Wait a minute, that is because I am. I have cancelled practices in
the past due to a lack of participation. People agreed last year
that this team needed a lot of improvement and a lot of that
improvement would come from members wanting to compete
competitively. Wow, look what never happened. The reason this club
can't grow is because it won't take the club seriously.

Let's go ahead and clear a few things up. I am not upset with the
fact that I was voted out of leading practices and being captain. I
never wanted to coach a team of any sort. I am a runner. I have
been a runner for more than a decade, and I can teach the lazy people
to run and cut or the athletes to improve their skills. I was harsh
and abrupt at practices because the skills that we were working on
were basic. EVERYONE SHOULD BE ABLE TO DO THE BASICS WITHOUT
QUESTION. Nor, was I mad that we were losing games. I was angry at,
again, the lame, embarrassing effort that most of our team calls a
motivation to play. Also, if this Ultimate team wants respect, then
earn it by keeping non club and college players off the team. This
area is a very personal opinion of mine. People need to be
filtered. Joy, Ryan, Dylan, and Elvis are not even activity-card
holders. To top that, if you don't pay your dues, get lost.

In no way, shape or form do I want to be associated with poor
sportsmanship and/or drugs. I can call certain people out, but I
think that we all know whom I am talking about. If you wake up and
drink or do drugs in the morning, I don't want to be around you. One
way to better one's self, is to evaluate the effect that the people
around you have on your personal growth. If you do not believe in
the same things, then leave them in the dust. ULTIMATE FRISBEE DOES
NOT EQUAL POT. I use to play nice about this drugs and excessive
drinking. I didn't want to piss-off people. It is no longer
meaningful to keep my mouth shut. Some people on this team are
walking a thin line between tolerance and fight.

I took that title of president in hopes that I could help improve the
club. I obviously didn't know how to do that. I am going to resign
from president of the UNO Ultimate Frisbee Club. There is nothing
for me here anymore. I am happy for the friends that I have made
through this club. I hope that I might be able to keep some of
them. I was asked to see if I could help out with random stuff or
stick around until Harvest Moon. I don't suspect that people will
like me much after they read this letter. If you don't want me
around for anything then tell me. Granted, I don't find some of
the "members'" opinions to be valid. I will go and talk to the
Director of the Sports Clubs, Lisa Adams, tomorrow and possibly show
her this letter. Y'all should be rid of me by the end of this week.

Goodbye, and keep in mind that this was not directed at everyone

Aaron Grant Sherrill
