Revolver Speed Loader Techniques   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #2319 of 2394 |

I was a member a while ago and have rejoined as I've gotten back into
shooting and CQB techniques. Here's a discussion question; when using a
speed loader for a revolver (in this case, a 38spl Ruger SP101 w/a 2.5"
barrel), is the speed loader used with the shooting hand or non-shooting
hand? Thanks all!

Yes, it does. I can use my shooting hand (or right hand) thumb for the cylinder release. Anyone else? Remington1858 ... From: "Steve Swickard"...

I believe I saw on American Shooter tv show that it was Kevin Miclek (sp?) - a right handed shooter - would release the cylinder with his right thumb, and then...

No, I don't want to mislead anyone. My advice is based upon law enforcement training. There are probably faster ways to reload that wouldn't be used in the...

I agree with most of what you say, since my agency was amongst the last to leave the pouch before grudgingly accepting the speed loader. But it's all moot now...
