If you are going to use a lanyard ring I suggest making sure that the
base pads on your magazines are longer than the ring. That will save you
from smashing the heel of your hand into the lanyard ring as you are
seating the magazine.

Unless the lanyard is required by policy as part of a uniform you might
want to consider other options for retention other than a lanyard.
