If you feel that the current Senate "immigration" bill, with its
'legalization' component, is a disaster for the United States, PLEASE
contact your senators today! The current version of this bill, S1639 (the
bill has been renumbered for this second attempt at passage,) is coming up
for a vote in the Senate on Tuesday, the 26th of June.

Contact information for your U.S. Senators can be found here:

I've written to the President and both my Colorado Senator's about this, and
will do so again tonight.

Here is the email I sent to my Republican Senator. (I sent a slightly
different version to my Democrat Senator.) Feel free to modify it for your
own use.

The immigration bill, S1639, is an abomination of justice for Americans, and
a true danger to our national security.

No country can continue to exist without real borders - and fully enforced
border control. The most important consideration at this time is to place
effective control on our borders immediately.

AFTER positive border control is achieved, THEN deal with the illegal
immigrants who are already here in a separate bills - by creating effective
programs of employment and control for those working immigrants who are here
legally - and a positive means to prevent illegal immigrants from obtaining
employment in the United States.

I have a good feel for the mood and opinions of the electorate on these
vital issues of border security and illegal immigration (I run 17 email news
groups, and belong to a dozen more,) and can tell you that, from the
opinions I see expressed, any Republican who supports this current
"immigration" bill has a questionable future as an elected representative of
his constituents.

There appear to be far too few in Washington who have enough mettle to stand
up and address this open-border issue as a national security breach of the
most dangerous kind.

If you had been considering supporting this bill. I'd urge you to reconsider
that stand, and vote against the final passage of S1639.

The current and future security of the United States is in your hand with
this vote.

And, what follows is a modified version of a letter I sent to the President.
A variation could be used for your Senators.

Simply put, the American electorate believes that congress has no intention
to EVER institute any of the restrictive provisions in the current
immigration bill, no matter what IT, or THEY are saying at this time. It
doesn't even matter if you, and the other members of the Congress are being
sincere in your stated beliefs at this moment- we don't believe that ANY of
the restrictions will EVER be implemented. Congress doesn't have the future
will to do that.

And, the electorate no longer believes the rhetoric about this bill coming
from Washington, D.C. If you, as an elected representative of the American
people, are considering voting for S1639, you are doing so against the
strong wishes of the majority of American citizens. The latest polls show
that 80% of Americans are strongly against this bill.

There are two reasons for the country's sincere and emphatic push-back on
this immigration bill:

1) THE CURRENT IMMIGRATION BILL: S1639, has its roots in the dark of night -
without general oversight, and the possibility of reaction by the American
people during its inception. Members of the informed American electorate
DON'T LIKE THIS BILL at all - believing it to be a sellout of our national
security by a select group of Senators of both major parties.
2) THE 1984 IMMIGRATION BILL: and the complete failure to institute any of
the restrictive or protective measures that were written there. That bill
turned out to be a scam perpetrated on the American people by the U.S.
Congress, and the feeling is that the current bill is exactly the same -
since it is written by the same group of long-time elected Senators, and is
being sold to the American people with the same loud, but hollow, speeches.

Three things will positively affect our country's security, and reduce the
country's immigration problems:

1) Control the borders now! Enlarge the Border Patrol to fully implement and
enforce the laws currently on the books. ONCE THAT IS DONE, and our national
borders are firmly reestablished, then,
2) Create an effective instant Social Security check for employers to use
when checking for legal status of potential employment.
3) Create immigrant worker programs tailored to meet our agricultural and
industrial needs, but those programs MUST also have effective monitoring and
enforcement built in - and fully implemented.

Accomplish the above three tasks in separate bills - in the above order,
with the border control being FIRST.

America's security is at issue here. With the current open borders, we have
no idea who, or what, is entering our country on a daily basis.

Without effectively controlled borders, we no longer have a sovereign
nation.
