Rick,
I like the Kimbers. There are 7 of them in the safe right now in various
configurations.
Classic refers to the style. A classic is a standard 1911 design. Other
styles are Elite, CDP, Raptor, RCP, Eclipse, etc.
Custom refers to barrel length. Custom are 5" guns, Pro are 4" guns and
Ultra are 3" guns.
Series II refers to the addition of the grip safety activated firing pin
block.
So a Custom Classic would be a 5" entry level 1911 design autoloader
without a firing pin block.

Subject: [Combat-Handgun] Kimber model question
I bought a used Kimber Classic Stainless at a gun show yesterday.
I had shot a Kimber Custom a few months back, and since then, wanted
one. The price seemed right on this.
Now - I am wondering what the difference is between the Classic and
the Custom or Custom II. I don't see a Classic on the Kimber web site.
Is this the generation prior to the Custom II and Custom I ?
Thanks,
Rick
