It would appear Nebraska is about to pass CC. Assuming they do, I
plan to take the necessary training to obtain a license & am trying to
decide between the Taurus Millenium Pro in .40 S&W, & the Taurus
Protector in .357 mag. I have owned many Taurus products over the
last 20 years & they have come a long way in accuracy & reliability.
They are also very affordable, compared to other choices. I have
never fired the .40, carried .357 of various makes as a duty weapon
many years back. Ballistics appear to be similar between these, nod
on capacity would go to the autoloader, but I am more familiar with a
revolver. Anyone have an opinion on either of these?

... Personally, I'd not want to carry the 40SW at all. I'd rather carry a 9mm or jump to the 45acp in an auto pistol (I carry 1911's for many years.) No truck...
... I've seen a handful of Millennium guns in students' hands in classes. Frankly my opinion is that they are virtually un-shootable. Carrying any gun is...

... Minor correction. The 24x7 was never a "pro"/"non-pro" variety... that is only for the Millennium. Your paragraphed mixed the firearms. You have: ...
... I beg to differ. At the Steel Challenge last year the Taurus rep brought the 24/7 Pro prototypes and explained to those that dropped by the Taurus ...

... *frick* If you look on the Taurus 24/7 web page, they don't show it listed as a "pro" model. ...
... My understanding is that Taurus was flushing the old 24/7's out sort of like the way S&W flushed all the SIGMA-type models out in advance of the launch of...

... I called Taurus at the beginning of March. They said the 1911 has "made it on shore" and will shortly be hitting the wholesalers. I guess they had to get...

... Yes. I have the PT-140 (non-Millennium) for my carry firearm. I really like it, but as a polymer it does "snap" when you fire it. With the light weight,...
I did visit the range & test fired the Glock in .40 S&W. WHOA! What a handful! I discovered two things -- either .40 S&W kicks really hard, or my memory of...
... Gun weight - particularly how much weight is below the barrel - makes a difference in felt recoil. The Glock and most of the polymer guns have extremely...

Karl - Thanks for all the insight. I had not considered the DA trigger pull factor on a revolver. It's been 27 years since I carried a weapon & it was a Colt...

Doug, I have a couple of 40s, a G22 & G23. I considered a G19 as a CCW gun, but was won over by my CCW gun being able to take the same mags/ammo as my duty...
Karl, I noticed this phenomenon a lot when I went to do my PD qualification. The guys that consistently had trouble were usually using a DA/SA gun of some...
