The First Annual Matthew Weaver Memorial Swim Meet
Hello Everyone,
This past June, our dear friend, swimmer, landscape architect and lifeguards' life was taken away from us too soon due to a tragic event. We would like to honor him by dedicating University of Maryland Club Swim
Besides a change in name, our meet will also change in the type of events which swimmers will compete in. These include several unique relay events as well different individual events. These new events can be seen in the schedule below.
Also, prior to the start of our meet we will be having a small memorial service outside the main entrance of University of Maryland 's Campus Recreation Center
The meet will help raise money for the scholarship fund that the University has created in Matt’s name. Throughout the meet, we will be selling t-shirts and raffling off tons of gift certificates and prizes. All of the proceeds will be donated in
Matt’s name.
In addition, we will have some special gifts also for everyone who attends. TYR is sponsoring portions of this meet and will be donating gift bags for every participating swimmer; these bags will include many items, from goggles, bags, bottles, shirts to swimsuits.
Please come and join us for some fun
swimming at our natatorium to honor our friend Matt and take part in a different type of meet.

The Matthew Weaver Memorial Swim Meet

Where: University of Maryland 's Natatorium, 1115 Campus Recreation Center , College Park , MD 20742
Time: Warm ups: 12:00 pm
Officers/Captains Meeting 12:45 pm
Start of meet, 1:00 pm
Pizza/House Party: Once the meet is over
Will have pizza at the end of the meet just like always as well as prizes. Also, we want to throw a house party for later in the night, so look into staying over in College Park
Entry Fee: Please make a check out to “Maryland Club Swim Team” for $115.00
Hotel Information and Directions can be provided upon request.
