Dear Swim Club Officers,

I see many of you are back with your clubs beginning to plan your meets for the
new year.
We have 25 clubs with ASA U.-registered swimmers coming into this schoolyear.
Those of
you who registered last year are current through this Fall. Those registering
now will be
current through the end of 2008 calendar year.

NATIONALS:
One of our new clubs is applying to host Nationals this year. If your club is
interested in
doing that, please contact me ASAP to be considered. The host will be able to
collect entry
fees this year. Last year we had 18 teams and 240 swimmers at Nationals, so it
looks to
be lucrative for this year's host, as the meet will surely continue to grow.

OTHER MEETS:
Those of you who attended last year's meeting at Nationals know that official
times from
ASA U.-sanctioned meets will be required to enter Nationals. So, that's one
great reason
to get whatever meets you're hosting this year sanctioned. If some of the clubs
who
traditionally attend your meet aren't registered (there's a list on our
website), please
encourage them to do so. Hopefully all the clubs will be registered soon. AND
REMEMBER...there is no cost for meet sanctions. It's just an easy form to fill
out on the
website. We will then collect results from all the meets and compile collegiate
club
swimming records. We're only weeks away from putting up our completely
redesigned
website and are working on a database for collegiate club swimming records and
results.
So get your meet sanctioned to add some interest and excitement to it, and so
that your
swimmers will have times to enter Nationals with.

IN THE WORKS:
Also, we're in talks right now with a company that's very big in the swimming
world (no
names until we have an official announcement to make) about a
partnership/sponsorship
that will provide some great services for our clubs in the areas of
training/coaching.
Hopefully I will have more for you on that soon.

Please let me know if you have any questions or if there's anything I can do for
you.
Thanks! I'm looking forward to a great year for collegiate club swimming.

Gaudeamus,

b
