HRM

For X Mas my children bought me a Garmin Forerunner 305 with the heart
rate monitor. I have used it and fortunately the HR worked fine and I
didn't even have to adjust the straps or anything.

Saturday I plan on doing the Coach's famous speed (i.e. puke test) to
find out what my Max HR is. It will be interesting to monitor how I do
relative to % of HR and such.

After a few years of watching the board I might just end up in the EBT
camp.

Kurt

I did 6 miles and 5x400, with 200 jogs between, today, and was frustrated because I couldn't get my HR up past 154 (about 83%). So after the last 400 I...

Meg and Jabber: You both appear to have used your HRMs during your recent marathons. Do you feel it helped, or maybe held you back? I'm thinking that if I had...

Jonguy, Speaking as someone who has a terrible problem with starting too fast, I would say the HRM is definitely the most important tool in making sure my pace...

Thanks, Meg. That's sound advice. I'm going to start wearing it more in races, including a 5k this Sunday. It just makes sense to me. I wear it for its...

JonGuy~I didn't wear my HRM during the marathon as it was a goal race. While I don't think it would limit me if I wore it, but I just trust my training too...
