After moving above .500 for the first time in more than five years, the Los Angeles Clippers wasted no time continuing their climb. Lamar Odom and Corey Maggette triggered a quick start and Quentin Richardson scored 23 points as the Clippers snapped a seven-game home losing streak to the Seattle SuperSonics, 114-94. The Clippers (12-10) never trailed and led by as many as 29 points. They established season highs for points in a half (70) and game as they looked as sharp as they have all season. Monday's win over Orlando moved Los Angeles above .500 for the first time since it was 6-5 on November 21, 1996. The Clippers are two games above break-even for the first time since they were 6-4 on November 19, 1995. Odom had 15 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists in a superb all-around game. Maggette scored all 17 of his points in the first half, when the Clippers raced to a 70-45 lead. Jeff McInnis scored 19 points and Elton Brand added 18 and 10 rebounds for the Clippers, who shot 54 percent (46-of-85) from the field and held a 42-32 rebounding advantage. Seattle has gotten very comfortable in Los Angeles, going 8-1 in the Staples Center since it opened in 1999. That included Tuesday's win over the defending NBA champion Lakers, but the Clippers beat the SuperSonics at home for the first time since January 23, 1997. |

Quentin Richardson scored 23 points, and Elton Brand had 18 points and 10 rebounds Wednesday night as the Los Angeles Clippers took command early in a 114-94 victory over the Seattle SuperSonics. The win was the third straight and fifth in six games for the Clippers (13-11), who are over .500 later than at any time in a season since March 5, 1993. Jeff McInnis had 19 points and six assists; Corey Maggette added 17 points, and Lamar Odom had 15 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists for the Clippers. Brent Barry led the Sonics with 18 points. Vin Baker added 15 points and Gary Payton had 14 points and seven assists. The Sonics lost for the seventh time in nine games, but were coming off a 104-93 victory over the two-time defending champion Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday night. This game was a different story from the start. The Clippers, who led all the way, got four points each from Maggette, Odom and McInnis in a 12-0 run that made it 19-5 after 6 1/2 minutes of play, and it was 70-45 at halftime. Seattle, 0-8 in the second half of back-to-back games this season, was 14-1 against the Clippers during the last four years, and 34-4 against them in the last nine seasons. In addition, the Sonics had won their last seven games against the Clippers in Los Angeles, and were 8-1 at Staples Center since it opened in October 1999 -- 4-0 against the Clippers, and 4-1 against the Lakers. Odom had nine points and five assists and Maggette also had nine points in the first period, which ended with the Clippers leading 33-21 thanks mainly to a 15-of-23 shooting performance. The Clippers didn't cool in the second quarter, going 14-of-24 while increasing their lead to 25 points. The 70 points were the most they've scored in a half this season, and their 114 points were also a season-high. The Clippers led by as many as 28 points in the third quarter before settling for a 92-67 lead entering the final period. Notes The Clippers' next game is Friday night against the Lakers, who have lost two straight. The Lakers haven't lost three in a row in 221 games including the playoffs since Phil Jackson became their coach before the 1999-2000 season. ... The Sonics put center Calvin Booth, who has started 15 games, on the injured list due to a sprained right ankle. They didn't immediately replace him on their roster. ... Seattle's Vladimir Radmanovic sprained his right ankle in the third quarter and didn't return. ... Seattle never led in the game, its second straight in consecutive nights at the Staples Center. The SuperSonics ended the Lakers' 15-game winning streak at home with a 104-93 victory on Tuesday. Lamar Odom finished just two assists short of his first triple-double of the season, with 15 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists, as Los Angeles won its third straight contest. Elton Brand contributed a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Jeff McInnis added 19 points, and Corey Maggette chipped in 17. The Clippers shot 54 percent from the floor, and held Seattle to 43 percent. Brent Barry led the SuperSonics with 18 points, as Seattle lost for the fifth time in six games. Vin Baker added 15 points, Gary Payton scored 15 and Rashard Lewis chipped in 12 points. Shammond Williams and Art Long came off the bench to score 11 and 10 points, respectively. Leading 7-5 with 8:30 to play in the first quarter, the Clippers scored 12 unanswered points in three minutes. Odom and Maggette each scored nine points to pace the Clippers to a 33-21 lead after the opening quarter. Los Angeles led by 13, 51-38, with 5:30 on the clock before intermission, and went on a 14-2 run to lead by 25, 65-40, with 51.7 remaining. Los Angeles led 70-45 at the half, shooting 62 percent from the floor and holding Seattle to just 37 percent. Los Angeles had four scorers in double- figures through the first two quarters. Maggette led all first-half scorers with 17 points, followed by Richardson with 13, McInnis with 11, and Odom with 10. Barry was the only SuperSonic in double-figures, scoring 12 points in the half. Seattle cut the lead to 20 points, 78-58, with 7:21 left in the third quarter, but could not draw any closer. Los Angeles scored only 22 points in the third quarter but maintained a 25-point lead going into the final frame. Odom was replaced by Eric Piatkowski early in the fourth quarter. Brand put the Clippers across the century mark with 7:29 left to play.
