Broncos: Brown elbows his way into another setback
by: Susie Wargin sports reporter/anchor
Broncos Defensive End Courtney Brown suffered the team's first major
injury of training camp when he dislocated his left elbow during
Thursday morning's practice. Brown was going for the ball during a
routine play when his arm got caught underneath a couple of teammates.
Team trainers were able to set Brown's elbow back in place and gave
an optimistic return date of three weeks. They also gave a
pessimistic time period of four to six weeks - both time tables are
dependent on how quickly his elbow responds to rehab.
This is Brown's first year with the Broncos and he's quite familiar
with injuries. In his previous five years with Cleveland, Brown was
placed on injured reserve four times because of left ankle (1/02),
knee (12/02), right arm (12/03) and left foot (9/04) problems. The
only season he did not end the year on IR was his rookie year in
2000.
