I just don't understand why The Reds didn't use
Hamilton to get Bedard? I am not sure these 2 guys are
that good as I had not heard of them at all.

I think this will be a very good trade for the Reds. Although Josh had
a good year last season he was somewhat fragile. The 2 arms they picked
up are what we need, young and strong. The rotation is setting up
nicely and if they could pull off the Bedard trade without giving up
the ranch in Bruce, Bailey, or Votto it will be very nice. Hamilton is
a tough loss, but with such a plethera of quality outfielders we can
fill the hole fine. And remember in sports today you have to give up
something to get something.
Yes, I did make a mistake having Griffey in CF but I think it was understood that he should be in RF! Do you really have to point this out? Come on give a guy a break for aleast writing in here.
BTW, the Orioles are looking to get younger not older, LOL.

dont forget about j bruce in the of,,and take away the rule 5 player we picked up today he's about 1-3 years away from the bigs. thats why the braves left him out there. trust me if the braves thiught he could help thier team this year they would'nt have left out there brad wilson <rofllmbo@...> wrote:

So you expect Griffey and Hamilton to hold hands in CF. Griffey needs to stay in RF or DL city would be the result. Trade him to the Orioles for Bedard.

If the Reds do as I have written then here is how I
would play each player.
1. Hamilton CF
2. Keppinger 2B
3. Griffey CF
4. Phillips SS
5. Dunn LF
6. Encarncion 3B
7. Votto 1B
8. Ross C
That would be a great a Lineup with
OF Reserves of
Hopper
Dickerson
INF Reserves of
Castro
Gil
C Reserves
Valentin- Manily Pinch Hitter
Hanigan
Rotation
1. Harang RH
2. Bedford LH
3. Arroyo RH
3. Belise RH
4. Bailey Rh
Relief
1. Cordero-Closer RH
2. Burton RH
3. Weathers RH
4. Bray LH
5. Livingston LH
6. New Relief Pticher via trade
7. and the Rule 5 guy we got today.
This would be a well balanced 25 man team and one I
would think could win and go all of the way.

Why do the reds not trade Gonzales and Hatteburg and
Freel for a Bedford? Or offer 2 of them to Baltimore
and trade the other for a relief pitcher?
I would also think Bedford would be a great #2 guy in
the rotation as he is a LH Starter and he would fit
great after Harang and before Arroyo. The reason I say
this is good is that usually a team that wins the WS
has 3 very good starting pitchers and we would have
that then.
The Reds should get rid of Coffey and Stanton as they
were just terrible. Maybe we can get someone to think
of a different place to play can help a player like it
did for Brandon Phillips and get a Relief Pitcher for
each of them to help our bullpen?

The whole point was to improve the bullpen. Burton and Weathers aren't going anywhere. Burton was a rule 5 pickup but a steal. You have to keep him because good relievers are just as hard to come buy and he's cheap as well.
i thimk the reds should go after erik bedard 13-5 lat year 221k's vs 57 bb last year I think homer, burton and player to be namd later would be a good trade. what do you all think. maybe i'm carzy but sometimes i think you need to guess who will make your team better, my guess is bedard will be a geat #2 behind harang
