I agree with you about wanting to see the Reds do more with their
bats than their fists, but at the same time, the fighting shows that
they haven't given up on this season, regardless of the mediocrity
that they can't seem to shake. I think that if they could get a bona
fide #1 starting pitcher (there are several available, see story in
the Reds' Clubhouse on espn.com), they would be much better. The
pitching rotation is - face it - probably the worst in the National
League. Their bats are going to be fine. Whether team management is
willing to suck it up and pay the money to make the pitching staff
better...that will decide how the Reds finish this season.
