My wife Rachel and I just got back from vacation on a 2 week road tour
with our camper. We headed north to Yellowstone then down into the
Teton National Park and on into Park City,Utah for the National
Mountain Bike Series at Deer Vally. Aren Timmel placed an unreal 22nd
place against the very top mountain bike racers of the world (Geoff
Kabush,Jeremy Horgan-Kobelski,Adam Craig etc.).Four laps on a
tough, high altitude course! A great finish! Matt Cipes, the mech. at
Cycle Sport, took 2nd place in the mens 19-24 Super- D. Todd Booth who
raced the mens semi-pro was also tough on the wicked cross country
course. I raced the mens xc 50+ sport cat. and walked away with 2nd. We
raced 2 laps of the same course as the pros, about 18 miles. We started
off and I worked my way to 1st where i stayed for the 1st lap.A local
caught me on the first big clinb of the 2nd lap(I hate small skinny
climbers, sorry Mike C.)but caught him on the decents.I thought I could
stay with him for the last climb but he proved me wrong and held on for
the win.I got a nice metal and stood on the #2 spot on the podium. Glad
to be home to all my friends.See you on the 50.
