Hi All

It's that time of the year.... winter is here.  That means cold wet weather not too mention less daylight.  The past few years we've had some great trainer parties.  What is a trainer party, you ask?  It's a session where you bring your bike and trainer to a specific location and you do a workout with a group.... A planned workout that usually lasts about 1 hour (plus warm-up). You get a good workout in a 'party' like atmosphere.

This year I'm adding some new features. First, we'll be doing a 10 week program starting Tuesday Dec 1.  Each Tuesday we'll be working one or all of these: Pedaling/cadence, aero/riding position on the bike, and building strength on the bike.  Plus, we'll do some Threshold and VO2 work.  I'll be there to administer and coach the workout.  Each workout will build on top of the previous workout.

The other new feature is that North Rim Adventure Sports has generously agreed to sponsor/donate different Hammer Products for you to try.  Each week you'll be able to try/test different pre-ride drinks, drinks to be used during a ride and post ride.  Hammer has a big line of different Endurance products, so it should be a great chance to experiment and find out what works for you in a relatively controlled environment.

Now's a good time to make the commitment to improving your cycling and to having a great 2010 season.  Make it an early New Years Resolution.  ;)  It's FREE and open to everyone though there will be a limited number of spots available, and you will need a windtrainer.

Send me an email and let me know if you are interested and ready to make the 10-week commitment.  Final details of location will be provided later, but the workout start time will be 6:30pm.

Cheers,

Mike

PS  If you don't have a trainer, maybe you can borrow one from a friend. Or, the downtown Christmas preview is this Sunday, 4-8pm.  North Rim has windtrainers on sale for 20% off.  Your LBS might have the same but I'm not sure. Windtrainers are very handy for winter workouts, pre-race warm-ups and for injury rehab.

I know there is a slew of groups rides tomorrow but I was wondering if anyone would like to/is planning on going later in the day when it's gotten above freezing.

If you are please let me know.

Hi Everyone! The next event in the Chico Hill Climb Time Trial Series will be held this Saturday(not Sunday!) - the Neal Road Time Trial on Saturday, November 14th. Registration will open at 8:30am at the corner of Neal Road and Hwy. 99, with the first rider going off at 9:01am. The Neal Road Time Trial is approximately 8.2 miles long and includes approximately 1,450 feet in elevation gain.

Also, if anyone can help me start the riders off, that would be AWESOME - you can still race the event, just be the last rider to go off. If you can help, shoot me an e-mail at lorrod7@....

Hope to see you there!
