Newsflash!! Participating in the Taste of VQ During the Spring/Summer Can Reap Huge Benefits!!
CHICAGO, IL (VQ News) - Recent studies have shown that participating in a Taste of VQ class once a week will be more beneficial to your cycling than an outdoor ride. Many people may be hesitant to believe the results of this study as they have been riding inside all winter and are excited to get outside and feel the wind through their helmets as they bike down the lakefront path. Listed below are several determining factors that outline the benefits of the Taste of VQ.
-Avoidance of Laryngitis: In the Taste of VQ you will never have to scream at that person on the path that cannot hear you politely asking them to move out of your way as they have the latest Justin Timberlake song blasting in their headphones as they are blinding flailing their arms while rollerblading, paying no attention to their surroundings.
-Preservation of Brake Pads: You are cruising past North Ave Beach, just getting into a great rhythm when suddenly a crowd of teenagers or a family with little kids and strollers start crossing your path. There are too many of them for you to call out "On your left!" and pass them. The only choice you have is to brake as hard as you possibly can and hope you don't run over the 4 year old girl eating an ice cream cone. At the Taste of VQ, you will never have to break your rhythm due to people crossing your path, saving your brake pads for another day!
-Conservation of Gas: You have all of your races planned out for the season and are looking through your calendar to try and schedule time to go out to the race site and pre-ride the course. As you scan your weekends, you notice that many of them are filled with baby showers and street festivals and picnics. What do you do? Do you miss out on these great events so you can fill your gas tank at $4 a gallon to drive 3 hours each way to get a 4 hour bike ride in? Or do you sign up for the Taste of VQ and ride the course on the computrainer and get to go to that fun event you had planned and have a little extra fun with the money you saved on gas? Seems like a no-brainer if you ask me!
-Power, Power, Power!: You get out on the bike path several times a week but never seem to make any sort of improvement and have no idea why. Was it the wind? Was it your legs? Was it the 4 year old you narrowly missed hitting and sending to the hospital? At the Taste of VQ you will be able to monitor your progress accurately through measuring your power at each workout!! You can watch your numbers improve each week as you are pushing your limits on your bike while doing workouts designed to develop or strengthen your aerobic, strength and endurance systems, focusing on your power at threshold.
With all of these compelling reasons, there is no reason for you not to follow the links below and sign up for the next Taste of VQ 8 week session before all the spots are filled! We need at least 5 people for each class and the cost is $135.
