For those of you signed up or interested in RAYOR (the deadline to sign up is Oct 25!), the 4-hour Adventure Race in Palos Park, on October 29, there is an orienteering clinic conveniently coming up, next weekend, put on by the Chicago Area Orienteering Club!  I will be there, along with some other friends that are either experienced or just getting their feet wet with the skill. 

 

If you haven't signed up for the race because you're not familiar with orienteering, this is your chance!  (Also, keep in mind this race was designed so that you could do the other events and collect checkpoints that way, instead - whatever can be completed in 4 hours; however, there may be a weighted checkpoint system for the more difficult events.)

 

 

Driving Directions: From the Stevenson Expwy (I-55) take LaGrange Road - South (Hwy 45) across the river and exit on Archer Avenue to the southwest. Continue for 3 miles and turn left onto 95th street. Turn right at the top of the hill onto Wolf Rd. Follow the orange-and-white orienteering signs to the start on the right at Pulaski Woods, about 1/3 mile south of 95th.
