Dear Triathlete,
Team Hoyt (Dick and Rick Hoyt) are finalists in the Versus Toughest Athlete contest. If you believe that Team Hoyt is the toughest athlete then please vote for them in this contest by September 15. Click here for more information and to vote: http://campain08.versus.com/toughest.php
Most of you have watched Team Hoyt compete in FIRM multisport events, the Boston Marathon, or the Hawaiian Ironman, and are familiar with their background. Rick Hoyt was born with severe brain damage. When doctors said to put him in an institution, the Hoyts refused. Instead, Rick and his father, Dick started competing together in marathons and triathlons. Six of which were grueling 15-hour Ironman competitions. Rick can't compete on his own so his father pulls him on a dinghy as they swim, tows him as they bike, and pushes him in a wheelchair as they run. To date they have competed in 65 marathons and 224 triathlons.
In this contest Team Hoyt has outlasted such sports legends as Lance Armstrong, Mike Tyson, and Evel Knievel. Now the contest is down to two finalists, one of which is Team Hoyt. So if you think that Rick and Dick Hoyt have earned the title of "toughest athlete" then vote today at: http://campain08.versus.com/toughest.php
