1. Race Reminder - Panthers 5k Blue Points Race Saturday 8/7 at
8:00am

We will meet at the corner nearest the stadium at the intersection
of Mint and Stonewall at 7:30 am. I will have the shirts by then so
let me know if you want me to bring yours to the race. We have at
least 10 Front Runners that are signed up for the race. It is not
too late to sign up - It is $18 today or $25 on race day. Go to

2. Social Outing – Hedwig and the Angry Inch Friday 8/20

Several of us are going to see Hedwig and the Angry Inch at Actors
Theatre at the 8:00 pm show. Tickets are $23. Go to

3. Road Trip to Ginger Cake Mountain

Front Runners Jay and Phil have graciously invited the Front Runners
to spend an evening at their house in the mountains on Saturday
9/11. We will still have the regular Saturday run and then we will
head to the mountains. There is a limit to how many the house can
sleep comfortably, so let us know if you are interested in going.
We may need to reserve another nearby cabin for the overflow.


4. Shirt Order Update – The shirts should be available this week.

5. Group run reminder

Don't forget this week's Front Runner runs:

NOTE: Saturday's run will still take place for those not running the
Panther 5k, but there may not be many runners. Saturday morning at
9:00 AM, Liaisons parking lot, breakfast afterward at Einstein Bros.
Bagels on South Blvd.

Monday night at 6:30 PM, Dowd YMCA back porch, dinner afterward at
Rudino's Pizza and Grinders located in Southend near the Southend
Brewery

Also, if you are interested in a Thursday night run, remember the
Bloody Mary Running Club, which meets at Aprille Shaffer's house in
Plaza-Midwood each Thursday, 6:30 p.m., dinner afterward. Contact

6. Charlotte Business Guild Night at The Sting

Many of the Front Runners will be attending this event and we
encourage everyone to join us.

Mark your calendar for a special event on Sat., Sept. 4 when the
Business Guild will sponsor a night at the Charlotte Coliseum as the
WNBA Charlotte Sting take on the defending world champion Detroit
Shock. We're reaching out to all organizations and individuals in
the area LGBT community to attend the game and build stronger
connections. And a special ticket price is available through the
Guild's partnership with the Sting: $10 center court seats
(normally $20).

Pre-game mingling will occur at the Coliseum's Crown Club starting
at 4:30 p.m. with the tip-off beginning at 6:00. And even if you
already have tickets for the game but want to join us for the Crown
Club event, let us know so we can get you into the Coliseum early.
There will be a special Sting give-away at the pre-game event.
