Hi,

I'm a fellow recumbent rider and am planning for 2010 a multiple day ride in the
Tampa/Clearwater area. Would you be able to share some trips that might take me
4 days to complete at about 30-40 miles/day? I'd prefer to ride, overnight at a
hotel then continue the ride, overnight at a different hotel, etc.

I see that the FL Keys Overseas Heritage Trail is 106 miles long and that'd be a
nice option, however, I prefer to stay on the west coast. Do a lot of the
trails on the west coast link up to make longer rides than say 40 miles?

Any thoughts you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Gen Van Fleet State Trail UPDATE 20 Nov'09
Four bridges have been repaired and repaved.
We expect the trail to reopen going North from Green Pond Rd very early next week.
We understand the northern most end will be closed for replacement of that real bad northern most bridge. Will post updates as available.

Hey Rod,

If your plans change, as they sometimes do, we'll be in Inverness the 26th-29th. Join us if you can. Otherwise, maybe we'll see you over the winter.

Hi Fred & Ginnie,

I showed a number of my friends Bob's video and they asked if there were a lot of bugs in the air. I said, "of course and they bite." The bubble effect is great, keep the bubble machine crankin.

                               Little Coochee II

A couple of us So Fl bent riders are coming up again Thursday morning for the Thanksgiving Holiday. From the Central Motel, we will be riding the trail each day and would love to have any riders in the area join us.

If you missed the ride this past weekend, here is a chance to come out and have some fun on the trail. Also, if you know any of the bent riders in your area that aren't members and won't see this post, please, let them know about the rides.

There was a lot of interest in our trikes and I will be bringing along a couple for anyone who wishes to ride a light, fast trike.

Feel free to contact me at bill@... or by phone; 305 979 7755.

Happy Holiday,

Folks,

Rick has decided to step down as moderator of this group. I'd like to thank Rick
for his years of service to our group.

Willy Byers will be moderating this group in the future. Willie is a good friend
(well, also he happens to be one of my favorite "humans") and he is a dedicated
Bent Evangelist. I'm sure he'll do a great job.

Thanks once again Rick for all those years of help and THANK YOU WILLIE for
always being there.

Gusy,

Thank you ALL who participated in our Weekend Bent Family Reunion!!! 40 of you joined us for the pot luck dinner, The Saturday Happy Hour and evening dinner.

About 65 (probably more but it was hard to count) of you came to ride Saturday morning. A small group of riders did a short ride on Friday (before our Welcome Wagon Event). Lots of folks magically came to the same spot for lunch (on Saturday)  where I must say I had one of the best burgers EVER and .... I hear the food at our restaurant of choice was pretty darn good.

On Sunday, some of you got up really early to ride w/ Regis or explore the North side of the Trail. Others, explored the North Side of the trail as scheduled (8:30 AM) and others chose to sleep a little longer and hit the trails when the temperatures were a bit warmer (a smart move).

As Willie mentioned to me, the weather was not PERFECT but according to his Weather Meter, it was about 99.99999999999 per cent PERFECT. Can we ask for more? I suppose we can but it won't happen in spite of our weather control powers.

Everyone who came was really friendly and I must thank you all again. I certainly hope you all had as much fun as I did.  I would also like to extend a special thanks to Willie for all his help and of course, I should also thank our sponsors for their generous donations (Atlantic Bicycles, Cycling Solutions, Hamton's Edge Bicycle and Trike Shoppe)

Once again, THANK YOU. ALL. We have already started to make plans for a different kind of TREAT (and yes, you may run over Willie with your personal bent or thank him for the idea). We're thinking about about a Three Bent Trail Quest. The idea is to hit a different trail, on three consecutive days (long weekend) and we're working on a date and logistics. Stay tuned.....

Once again, THANK YOU! Susan and I had a BLAST!

Are there any more details available for this outing? The title says "Weekend", but only Friday is described. And seriously, 1 PM to 12 AM? That's 11 hours. Somebody is pulling someone's leg here - what time is the ride really?

Are there any more details available for this outing? The title says "Weekend",
but only Friday is described. And seriously, 1 PM to 12 AM? That's 11 hours.
Somebody is pulling someone's leg here - what time is the ride really?
