Hello,
My name is Lee Kelly. I am a veteran from the 1st Gulf war with some
disabilities from a M.V.A. that happened in September 2004. For exercise,
weather permitting, I am able to ride a recumbent trike-bike (lowrider).

During September 2009, I plan to take a very special journey for a very special
cause. My journey will be by recumbent trike/bike from Cleveland, Ohio to
Dallas, Texas. Over 21 days and about 1,200 miles.
I am riding to raise funds and awareness for our returning disabled soldiers and
their families. In doing so, I hope to encourage any veteran with a disability
to set their goals higher, and they will accomplish it one way or another.
The beneficiaries of my ride will be the Wounded Warrior Project
(woundedwarriorproject.org), and the Fisher House (fisherhouse.org). These are
both 501(c) charities, and your contributions to either group will be tax
deductible.
I will be carrying a G.P.S. Tracking Device to confirm that I'm riding all of
the miles that you have sponsored, and you will be able to keep track of my
progress at MyBigRide09.com. Also, I will be posting a blog on my site.
Contributions can be made in two ways.
1) As a per mile donation, for example .20 cents per mile, and I do the full
1,200 miles, then you would sponsor $240 that will be donated to the charities
listed.
2) As a personal contribution to help cover my own expenses. This contribution
will be to pay for my motel, food, and fuel for the escort vehicle. Any
remaining funds will be donated to the listed charities.
Thank you for supporting me as I make this great journey. :thumb:
