Re: "Grousebeck saved 50 million"-Loy'sPlace

< It is a stroke of genius by Danny > (Loy's Place)

Sniff. Look, no one at my keyboard is wanting Danny sacked; but it
can't be in the Cs fans' 'activist' hopes, for Danny to "zeal on "
with his passion for little guys who can't guard bigger and better
guys 80 to 90 percent of the time, throughout the league. Plus it is
not only that our little guys are little but that they are very
young-with no visible means of veteran (& bigger) guys to help carry
them through painful learning times. Rondo, a future Celtic allstar
point guard-is 21 years old. Guys like Jason Kidd, are about 6-4, 6-5;
Telfair isn't even 6 ft-he's 5-10; he is quick (so's Rondo); West is a
tad slow to guard close to exceptionally-well ; but the (Bassy) is
about as far AWAY from a wellrounded point guard game-as I AM far away
from Pakistan, as I sit here in NC. Danny thinks we're building
Phoenix-cloned, but we've obtained NO Amare; No Marion; No Bell ; no
Diaw; no Kurt Thomas; no James Jones, and not to leave out, No Nash.
Aside from Jefferson, and don't "bother thinking trade him", we have,
by the critique of all Celts above, very little immediate trade
enticement pieces. Thing I want to know-is "where'n hades is Danny
going with all this "gathering" ? I don't want Danny fired, but he's
just about in a corner, surrounded by his paint bucket and brush.

< 1. Reaf LaFrentz for Theo Ratliff - 35 million vs 22 million
remaining liability - both get the same production (little or none).
Raef won some games for Boston last year, take those wins away and we
have a 19% chance at Greg Oden > (Loy's Place)

The thing is, about Oden and us : is, a mirage; our denial will not
let us be mindful of draft history, which in the final ponging , sweep
Oden far away from us; I've started just hoping maybe Wright, Horford,
(forget even Durant altho that'd be great), Noah or "Yi"

< 2. Dan Dickau and Brandon Roy - for Sebastion Telfair
23 million vs 5 million remaining liability - a two for none and an
honest to goodness thinning out process for Danny as he and Doc move
toward their true core of guards believed to be Rondo, West, and Tony
Allen. > (Loy's Place)

Rondo's already been penned in, by me, to starting PG duties, with the
thing about him is-he's small; West , I've covered. Allen is bigger,
is as quick as his knee is going to prove to be. Indeed, if said knee
is cooperating, he's got a bunch of athleticism; BUT, focus ? (sorry,
I had to mention).

3. So far I have identified 31 million dollars in Savings - so where
does the other 19 million come from - Insurance on Theo Ratliffe's
contract and the future savings off the luxury tax.

So I get it - Grousebeck saved 50 million - Danny gets to keep his job
- and the excuse of not supporting Doc with talent is a perfect excuse
to retain Doc Rivers (and not having to eat his 5 million salary by
replacing him at this time). > (Loy's Place)

But, it ain't how many million Wyc's saved. This is an unforgiving
bunch of professional-participator-designers in this league. And it
ain't "how you've saved it". When the 16 teams are gathered to make up
the playoffs every year, its definite that, its how you "used it" to
"snatch up pieces", that you'd better have a reputation for. That'd be
both Wyc AND Danny (add in Doc-and I ain't wanting him gonzo,
necessarily). Just opinion(s) .

musty Celtic Joe
