INSIDEHOOPS.COM NBA RUMORS FOR TUESDAY, JUNE 1 "If the Suns fail to land Bryant or McGrady they could make a serious play at Ginobili, the impressive two-guard from the San Antonio Spurs. Ginobili could get a very rich offer in the neighborhood of $10 million a season from some team and there is a chance that the Spurs may let him go if the price is too high. Ginobili is a sparkplug who would fit in great in Coach Mike D’Antoni’s up tempo system." Arizona Republic "And while the Suns have a few point guard possibilities in Joe Johnson, Howard Eisley, Leandro Barbosa and Milos Vujanic, sources say they have their sites set on Nash and that he would like to come back to Phoenix, the team that drafted him out of Santa Clara University in 1996." Arizona Republic "The only reason Phoenix would move the seventh pick is to free up more salary cap room to lure in veteran free agents. There are several teams interested in the seventh pick besides Charlotte. Already a young team, Phoenix could determine that it is better suited adding veterans through free agency then projects through the draft." Arizona Republic "Add Ben Wallace to the list of walking wounded that includes Pistons teammate Rasheed Wallace and Pacers Jermaine O'Neal and Jamaal Tinsley. Ben Wallace has a back strain, and he spent an inordinate amount of time on the trainer's table after Sunday's victory at Conseco Fieldhouse. He watched practice Monday in Auburn Hills with a device wrapped around his waist. Still, he is expected to play in tonight's Game 6 at the Palace. "He was hurting last night and he's hurting a lot now. We'll see," Pistons coach Larry Brown said after Monday's practice." Detroit Free Press "Derek Fisher played Monday night despite a knee injury that clouded his availability right up until tipoff. Fisher aggravated a sprain of his right medial collateral ligament in the final minute of Saturday's game at Minnesota, although the Lakers did not disclose the injury until Monday afternoon. An MRI taken Sunday revealed the injury. The Lakers believe it is an aggravation of an MCL sprain Fisher originally suffered during his collegiate career at Arkansas-Little Rock." LA Daily News NBA DRAFT "An InsideHoops.com source says that in individual team workouts, J.R. Smith has appeared overrated and was not able to perform on the same level as other players projected to be taken in the first round. A reminder, that this is only going by what occured in one or two workouts. " InsideHoops.com "Another InsideHoops.com source says that judging by a few individual team workouts, Al Jefferson isn't ready to be an NBA player. The source says that Jefferson really belongs in college, and will take a few years to develop in the NBA. The source thinks Jefferson has a future in the league, since he's athletic and talented, but that he doesn't really understand how to play basketball yet." InsideHoops.com "A source of InsideHoops.com in the world of coaching says that NBA teams working Sebastian Telfair out are not seeing his true potential, because he's a gem when it comes to five-on-five, full-court team basketball, and a far more limited in one-one-one and two-on-two practice-scenario battles. The coach has heard about Telfair's stock falling lower in the first round, and feels it shouldn't happen." InsideHoops.com "More than likely the Suns will keep the pick, because of the potential that a player drafted seventh could have on an organization. The Suns are hoping that either high school sensation Josh Smith or Iguodala fall to them at #7. Smith, the 6-foot-8 small forward from Oak Hill Academy is considered the best pure athlete in the draft. Iguodala, at 6-foot-6, is a better basketball player than Smith now and could help a team like the Suns right away." Arizona Republic "There is no truth to all the rumors that the Suns have a deal in place with 7-foot-3 18-year old Martynas Andriuskevicius of Lithuania. Andriuskevicius wants to stay in Europe for another year and his agent is saying that he has to be a top-five pick to stay in the draft. Plus he is too much of a project and the Suns just don’t need that right now." Arizona Republic "Likewise, word about the Griffins' 7-foot-1 center Ales Chan as a prospect for the upcoming NBA draft also is spreading rapidly as more scouts see him work out. Those who saw him first probably left thinking they had a draft-day secret. Already Chan, 23, has worked out for five NBA teams, and at least 10 others would like to bring him to their facilities for workouts. Others have planned visits to Seton Hill. Chan traveled to Phoenix to work out for the Suns last week. This week, he's visiting Washington, and he recently received an invitation to the prestigious NBA pre-draft camp June 8 in Chicago -- a sure sign he is viewed as a legitimate prospect."
