Why is this important? Because if you're an XPD hopeful, you really
want to be online at 9am AEST on Sunday 5 November 2006, ready to
enter. Entries to the last expedition were in such demand that all
available slots were taken within the first week! XPD 3rd edition
is shaping up to be no different, with many more international teams
coming "down under", lured by the ease of logistics and the majestic
racing location of the Whitsundays.
Up to 60 teams of four athletes will embark on this amazing
expedition through reef, rainforest and outback. They will
experience the majestic Whitsunday Islands, lush highland
rainforests and the harsh Queensland outback." Teams will be
unsupported over their 700+km journey as they race day and night on
a course involving stages of trekking, mountain biking, kayaking,
sailing and snorkeling. Dates have been set for the 20-31 August
2007 and it promises to be "as much an expedition as a race".
Don't forget, the only way to secure your teams spot (whether you
have all members confirmed of not), is to register online as soon as
entries open. Don't despair if you aren't ready to commit straight
away, history shows that not all the initially entered teams make
it. So, put your name down on the wait list and if any slots become
available organisers will contact you.
