Big Spring Park, near Van Buren, MO
12-hour, 24-hour and 36-hour courses
http://www.berrymanadventure.com
The 6th running of the Berryman Adventure is coming together nicely, and we
have a very strong field of racers registered for the race! The 2006
version of the Berryman Adventure is being moved, for the first time, to a
new location. The race will start and finish at the National Park Service's
Big Spring Park, near Van Buren, MO. The area around Big Spring Park is a
fantastic location for an adventure race with plenty of steep, rugged
terrain and three crystal-clear, spring-fed rivers in the area, including
the Current River, Jack's Fork River and Eleven Point River.
Also new this year is a 24-hour course, in addition to the 12-hour and
36-hour courses. The 24-hour course is a fantastic way for racers to take
that step from the 12-hour to the 36-hour. With over 50 racers already
registered for the new 24-hour course, including 15 soloists, it is sure to
be a very competitive and fun race!
The 36-hour course is looking to be one of the most challenging 36-hour
courses in the 6 year history of the Berryman! With teams registered from
as far away as Denver to Memphis to Dallas, it is sure to be very
competitive. As always, the top three teams in the 36-hour course will
qualify to race at the GoLite USARA National Championships, held November
3-4 in Southern California, and the top overall team will receive $400
towards their entry fee into the National Championship race, paid for by
Bonk Hard Racing. If you're looking for a real challenge that will test you
mentally and physically, this is the course! With the addition of a ropes
course for 2006, racers will push themselves over 115 miles through
backwoods forest, rock faces, single-track mountain biking trails and
beautiful rivers.
If you would like to participate in the 2006 Berryman Adventure, it's not
too late to register. Registration for the race will remain open until
September 15th. To learn more about the race, or to register, please visit
the Berryman Adventure website at http://www.berrymanadventure.com.
