ADVENTURE RACERS SET TO RETURN TO VAIL VALLEY

Sprint Course & AR Clinic offered this Year in addition to 12 hour Course

In less than 2 weeks, more than 200 adventure racers will descend upon the Vail Valley on Saturday, September 9th for the 6th Annual Adventure Xstream Adventure Race featuring both a sprint race (3-5 hours) and a 12 hour course (60 miles).  Both courses include mountain biking, kayaking, trail running and navigation.

Nestled into the heart of the Colorado Rocky Mountains, Vail is home to some of the world’s finest skiing and alpine recreation.  With the dynamic Colorado River and thousands of acres of national forest scattered across its expanse, Vail is one of Colorado’s best places to ski, mountain bike, hike and boat.  Along with its natural beauty, this return venue offers one of the world’s highest altitude courses.  Racers head up to elevations of 10,500 feet during the event.

There will also be a free AR 101 Clinic and Q&A on Friday evening, September 8th from 6:00-8:00pm at Rancho del Rio for event participants, hosted by Danny Suter with Boulder Performance Network.

The Adventure Xstream Adventure Race Series is offering a total of $30,000 in cash as the Series prize offerings. The next stop in the series is the Xstream Expedition Race Oct. 5-8th in Moab, Utah, a 3 day race featuring canyoneering, rappelling, kayaking, mountain biking, trail running, mountain trekking and navigation.

Currently, Team Durango.org, with 195 points, is in the lead for the Series Championship with Team BagelWorks, Team GoLite/Timberland Sprint, Team NW Nike ACG and Team Nike/Beaver Creek hot on their heels.

There are still a few spots left but the race is expected to sell out so sign up today at www.GravityPlay.com  Entry fee for each Adventure Xstream Adventure Sprint Race is $75 per person and fee for the 12 Hour Race is $175 per person and includes use of AIRE Tomcat tandem kayaks for each 2 & 4-person team.  All participants also receive a Zorrel.com Dry-wick AXS Shirt and Hammer Nutrition products.

Also if you are interested in volunteering email events@... – We are looking for CheckPoint Attendants, Safety Kayakers and Finish Line help.  All volunteers receive a $100 voucher for a future adventure race.
