**About the Race**

--Race date is July 23rd.

--Last year's race was a great success, and we anticipate this
year's event to be even bigger.

--This year's race will include two events. The Long Race will be 20
km (12 miles) with 4 portages. The Short Race will be 10 km (6
miles) with no portages. The short race will include boat categories
for kayaks under 16 feet long and over 16 feet long. The racers
meeting will be at 9:00 am and races begin at 9:30.

--Registration is limited, so register early.

**Pre-Race Events—Clinic and Cookout**
--Race Clinic with Robert Clegg on July 22nd

Learn from the best! World Marathon Kayak Master's Champion and US
Team Member, Robert Clegg, will host a half day clinic for
intermediate and
advanced kayakers. The clinic is open to every one—not just racers.
This unique opportunity is for paddlers to improve their stroke
technique by learning from one of the world's top paddlers.
Registration is limited to 15 paddlers. These spaces will fill fast.
Cost is $50. Clinic runs from 1-5pm. Proceeds help support the
Triangle Paddle Racing Club.Contact Abel Hastings at 919-414-2260 to

--Pre-Race Cookout on July 22nd – Join the Triangle Paddle Racing
Club for a cookout at Lake Crabtree on Saturday night. Dinner will
start at 7pm. Come out, eat, swap stories, and meet fellow
paddlers. Cost is $8 through registration form.
